Cucumber
Cucumber is known for its cooling properties. Cut slices of cucumber and refrigerate it for 1-2 hours. Keep these cold slices on your eyes. It will reduce the inflammation as well as soothe the eyes. Also you can extract fresh cucumber juice and soak cotton balls in it. Apply the cucumber juice on the eyes to reduce inflammation. Also it is effective in reducing the irritation caused by the swollen eyes.
Potatoes
Potatoes have anti-inflammatory properties and it can reduce swelling effectively. Cut thick slices of potato and store it in the refrigerator. Keep the potato slices on your eyes. It provides coolness to the yes which in turn reduces inflammation and provides relief from itching. It also reduces irritation in the eyes. Also you can soak cotton balls in freshly extracted potato juice and apply on the eyes for relief.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has medicinal and anti-inflammatory properties which can do wonders for the eyes. Take Aloe Vera leaf and extract the fresh pulp from it. Apply this Aloe Vera gel on the eyes. This provides relief from irritation and reduces eye inflammation effectively. You can also take cotton balls and dip it in Aloe gel and keep it on your eyes to get respite from swollen eyes.
Salt Water
Salt water is also good for eye inflammation. Take lukewarm water in a vessel and add salt to it. Soak a clean cloth or cotton balls in this solution. Apply on the affected area gently. Keep it for 20-30 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Repeat this process regularly to reduce inflammation.
Strawberries
Strawberries have anti-oxidant properties and can reduce eye infection significantly. Cut fresh strawberry slices and refrigerate it for 2 hours. Keep the cold strawberry slices on the eyes for 15-20 minutes. Repeat this process at least twice in a day to get relief from eye inflammation. Also drink regularly one glass of fresh strawberry juice which is very useful to reduce inflammation. Do not add sugar to the juice.
Cold Water
Cold water is an excellent remedy for swollen and eye inflammation. Take cold water and splash on the face and eyes at least 2-3 times in day for better results. This reduces inflammation of the eyes. Also you can soak a cotton cloth in the cold water and apply it on the eyes. This soothes the eyes and reduces irritation.
Coriander Seeds
Coriander seed is known for its medicinal properties and greatly helps to reduce the eye inflammation. These seeds are easily available in the market. Take one teaspoon of coriander seeds and add it to a glass of water. Let it stand overnight, next day morning boil these seeds in water strain the liquid. Store it in refrigerator for 1-2 hours. Soak a cotton ball in this chilled liquid and apply it on the inflamed portion of the eye.
Tea Bags
Tea bags can also reduce eye inflammation. Soak tea bags in warm water and let it steep for 2-3 minutes. Collect this liquid separately in a bowl. Take the tea bags and keep it on the inflamed portion of the eyes. It greatly helps to reduce inflammation and provides relief from irritating and swelling eyes. Also the liquid which was collected earlier can be stored in the refrigerator for 1hour. Take a cotton ball and soak it in this liquid and keep these cotton balls on the eyes.
Egg White
Egg white is also good for inflamed eyes. Break an egg and collect the egg white from it. Mix few drops of honey to it to make a fine paste. Apply this pack around the eyes and on the swollen areas. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with normal water. Repeat this process regularly to get best results. Also it leaves behind nourished and lustrous eyes.
Turmeric
Turmeric is known for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory property. Mix turmeric with rose water to form a fine paste. Apply this pack around the eyes. Leave it for 20-30 minutes or till the pack dries. Wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this process twice everyday for best results. This reduces the inflammation to a considerable extent.
