Dermatitis is a very irritating problem and can often be the cause embarrassment. Actually dermatitis is not a particular type of disease but is the common name given to a number of skin related conditions. There are many ways in which you can control it and there are quite some natural ways to cure dermatitis.

Most of the treatments are of topical type. However, recent findings have brought to light that some strains of lactobacillus can actually improve and control atopic dermatitis in the children aged below 13. Here are some of the ways by which you can cure dermatitis naturally.

Best Natural Cure For Dermatitis

Avoid scratching

This is one condition that worsens the condition of dermatitis. Stop scratching the affected area. It is indeed difficult when the person actually gets it, but there are several ways by which you can do it. Moisturize the affected place with lotions and gels that do not have perfumes and artificial colors added to them.

Hot and Cold Compress

Take two pieces of cloth. Soak one in warm water and the other in cold water. Now apply the pieces on the affected area alternately. After some time the itchiness can soothe significantly.

Wear Natural Fibers

Synthetic fibers can increase any condition of dermatitis. It is always better to wear soft natural fiber like cotton. These fibers allow the skin to breathe freely through them and that prevents build up of sweat. More than that, they do not irritate the skin which worsens any case of dermatitis.

Regular Bathing

This is something that needs to be done regularly. A good bath can wash away the dead skin flakes as well as hydrate the skin. However, take care not to overdo it as long time under shower can wash off the natural oil that you body secretes and actually turn the skin rough. Then you may again get that itchy feeling and fail to get the benefit of bathing that you actually deserve.  Gentle warm water can be used for bathing.

Use of Organic Beauty Products

There are certain ingredients in the beauty products, especially in those products like shampoos, soaps and hand-washes, etc. which contain harsh chemicals that can cause irritation on the skin and ultimately lead to dermatitis.

So stick to organic products only and that means 100% organic. Also if you have dermatitis, changing from artificial to natural ingredients can actually improve the condition. Ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, primrose oil, cocoa butter, etc. can actually improve the condition.

Aloe Vera Gel

Take some aloe vera gel and apply on the affected area. After sometime the area soothes to great extent. Since aloe vera has antibacterial properties also it can actually prevent or cure any bacterial build up in the affected area which is often a cause of deterioration of any condition of dermatitis.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is often used in shampoos as it is a very good remedy for dandruff. However, there are many products like face wash, creams, etc, which use tea tree oil and these can improve any condition of dermatitis. If you are using a shampoo that does not have tea tree oil, then adding a few drops to your regular shampoo can be enough. Only word of caution is, it is better to test your sensitivity to tea tree oil as some people are allergic to it.

Cocoa Butter

This is a natural source of vitamin E, a very important vitamin for the skin. Applying it to your skin does not supply this essential vitamin to your skin but also makes it soft. Cocoa butter works best in its pure form.

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil is a good skin nutrient and can soften the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and that it why the oil is good for treatment of various skin conditions like skin inflammation, eczema, etc.

Change Food Habit

This is one thing that often people ignore. There are certain classes of food like those containing gluten which can actually bring about an allergic condition. So those people who are suffering from dermatitis can actually try out a gluten free diet for about six months to see the effects. It has been seen that the condition improves in many cases. The same can be said about cow milk as it is often another cause of allergies.

Balanced Diet

Balanced diet and proper intake of fluids are other ways in which one can get relief from dermatitis. Lack of fatty acids can dry up your skin which in turn can cause irritation leading to dermatitis. So go for food that contains vitamins like C, D and E as well as those foods where you get omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids.
