Excessive sweating, also called Hyperhidrosis is a condition that affects 1 in every 100 people and leaves them embarrassed and looking for a way to hide their sweat. However, there are many natural ways to cure this within a matter of weeks.
Drinking sage tea once in a day, regularly, preferably in the morning, can cure Hyperhidrosis in 2-3 weeks. All you need to do is add 3 to 6 leaves in boiling water and consume.
You may also add other things like honey if you want to make it taste better. However, sage tea should be taken carefully and a break in consumption should be taken after 4 weeks as excessive consumption of sage tea causes excessive bleeding during injuries and also vaginal bleeding.
Apple cider vinegar is also known to cure excessive sweating. Since vinegar cannot be consumed alone, you can mix 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 2 teaspoons of honey and consume thrice a day half hour before every meal. This can cure Hyperhidrosis in a week.
Sometimes excessive sweating may also be caused due to magnesium deficiency and so taking 400mg of magnesium twice a day may cure this problem. However, this will not work if magnesium deficiency is not the reason for your excessive sweating and so if you do not feel the difference in a month, you may switch to other alternatives.
Even though the main use of burdock is as a blood purifier, it is also known to reduce excessive sweating as it channelises bodily fluids through other channels like urination. However, since burdock is known to have a laxative effect, you should be careful in its consumption and not consume more than necessary.
Natural antiperspirants are also a way to control excessive sweat and they work just as well as commercial ones, but they are better to use as they are safe and do not cause skin diseases like blood cancer and Alzheimer’s.
These are also cheaper than the commercial antiperspirants. You can easily prepare natural antiperspirants at home by using various herbs and mixing them with cornstarch, baking soda, coconut oil and tea tree oil.
The diet should also be kept in check when looking for a cure of excessive sweating and there is a list of items you should eat and items you should avoid if you are suffering from hyperhidrosis.
Firstly you should eat crabs, oyster seeds and pumpkin as they are rich in magnesium and zinc, and help in balancing the metabolism of the body and controlling excessive sweat.
Secondly, you should drink lots of water and eat high fiber fruits and vegetables, as this keeps your body hydrated which in turn regulates the body temperature and controls excessive sweat.
Thirdly, you should choose low choline fruits and vegetables, as choline is known to cause body odour, salivation and excessive sweating. You should also avoid eating spicy items like curries with red chillies because the chemicals in spicy items increase your body temperature making you sweat more than normal.
Also, the body has to work hard to digest vegetable oil, which causes sweat, so you should try substituting vegetable oil with olive oil as it is relatively easier to digest.
Since the body has to sweat to get rid of sodium, you should reduce your salt intake so that the amount of sodium in your body is not more than it should be.
Lastly, you need to control your alcohol and coffee consumption as caffeine and alcohol effect your inner body temperature as well as the body’s metabolism rate and increase sweating.
