Potato is a favourite vegetable of almost all the people as everybody is fond of potato chips. Potato is rich source of carbohydrates and is good for skin, hair and health. It has both health and cosmetic benefits which are described below:

Skin Lightening

Potatoes act as skin lightening agent. Grate one potato and mix it with curd. Apply this pack on your face and neck and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with normal water. You can also add few drops of lemon to it to see visible effects.

Removal Of Dark Circles

Blend a potato and extract the juice from it. Apply this juice under your eyes and in the affected areas. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water. This reduces dark circles around the eyes.

Treatment Of Wrinkles

Potatoes have anti-ageing effect. Apply potato juice regularly on your neck and face. It makes the skin smooth and removes wrinkles. Repeat this process everyday to get rid of wrinkles.

Removal Of Dead Cells

Potatoes can be used to remove dead cells from your skin. Grate one potato and apply the grated potato on your face and neck. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with clean water to get a clear and glowing skin.

Removal Of Dark Spots

If you have dark spots on your face then potato juice is beneficial in removing the same. Take a peeled potato and blend it. Extract the juice and apply it on the affected areas. Leave it for 20 minutes and wash off with normal water. Regular application of potato juice will reduce dark spots.

Potato As A Cleanser

Potato is a natural cleanser. Extract potato juice and mix it with milk. Apply this juice all over face and neck with the help of cotton ball. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with warm water to get a clean and refreshed face. You can also apply potato and cucumber juice to get a clear skin.

Treatment Of Rashes

In case of any skin rashes or insect bite, cut potato slices and place it on the affected area to get quick relief. It acts as a coolant and has anti-inflammatory properties which provide relief from rashes and insect bites.

Good For Dry Skin

Extract potato juice and mix with yogurt. Add few drops of honey to it and prepare a smooth paste. Apply this all over your face and neck and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water to get a smooth and glowing face.

Hair Pack For Healthy Hair

Blend a raw potato and extract juice from it. Mix one egg and few drops of lemon to it. Apply this mix to your hair and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash it off with mild shampoo. Repeat this process once every two weeks for best result.

Grey Hair Treatment

Potato peels can be very useful in the treatment of grey hair. Remove the peels from a potato. Boil these peels in water for 15-20 minutes. Strain this liquid and rinse your hair with it. Repeat this process once every week for best result. It will deepen the colour of your hair.

Hair Loss Treatment

Blend a potato and extract the juice from it. Add Aloe Vera juice to it and 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply this paste on your scalp and leave it on for 2 hours. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Repeat this process at least once in a week to prevent hair loss.

Easily Digestible

Potatoes can be easily digested. Potatoes are a rich source of carbohydrates and do not contain fat or protein and hence is good for the digestive system. It is an excellent food for people who cannot digest hard food. Boiled potatoes can be digested very easily.

Potatoes are rich in carbohydrates and vitamin C which helps to prevent heart diseases. It keeps blood pressure normal. Potatoes have flavonoids which check cholesterol in the body and keep you fit and healthy.
