Here are 15 Tips For Natural Dental Care:

Sparkling Teeth

An easily available household item is the bay leaf that is used frequently in Indian cuisine. A lesser known fact is that this can help you get sparkling teeth in just a matter of days. To do so, you need to rub bay leaf twice a week on your teeth.

Freshen Breath

It is found that there is a stale feeling in the mouth in-between meals. Chances are that if you had plenty of garlic or onion atlunch then everyone around you will know of it. Avoid that by freshening your breath with sage leaf. Keep some on hand and chew now and then.

Inflamed Gums

Inflamed gums get red and extremely sensitive. They also make it difficult to eat food. You can treat these canker sores by rinsing with a tincture of myrrh frequently during the day.

Whiter Teeth

Make a paste in your blender by combining little bit Xylitol, a few drops of peppermint oil, about 50g each of baking soda and coconut oil. Use this as toothpaste to have cleaner and whiter teeth as well as fresh breath.

Avoid Plaque and Bad Breath

Upto 70% or more dental plaque can be avoided if the tongue is kept clean. Also, bad breath results from the bacteria on the tongue. This can be easily avoided by cleaning the tongue daily with a tongue cleaner after brushing the teeth.

Treat Halitosis

Make a quick mouthwash by mixing boiling water and a teaspoon each of peppermint, lavender and rosemary oil. Let it steep in the boiling water for about 15-20 minutes before straining and using as a mouthwash.

Daily Mouthwash

There can be nothing simpler or cost effective than a mouthwash made with apple cider vinegar and boiling water. Cool this mix and store. This is very easy and has antibacterial properties as well.

Healthy Gums

Did you know that there are medicinal properties to strawberries? Next time you’re eating one, rub half of it on your teeth and gums and let it soak for about 15-20 minutes. Using warm water gently brush the juices in and then rinse. You will have cleaner teeth and healthier gums.

Remove Tartar and Plaque

The acidic properties of lemon allow it to be a good solution for removing tartar and plaque, as well as for whitening teeth. Rub the teeth and gums with lemon rind and massage the gums. Remember to massage the lower gums in an upward direction and the opposite for the upper gums.

Stain Remover

When in a hurry, sink your teeth in your favorite citrus fruit to satisfy the hunger pangs as well as whiten your teeth. Vitamin C rich fruits tend to increase the production of saliva which in turn helps in removing stains from teeth and cleaning them. They also strengthen the gums.

Whiter Teeth

Regularly brush your teeth with a paste of lemon juice and salt to have whiter teeth. While the citric acid in lemon juice helps in removing stain, salt acts as a catalyst and increases its efficiency. The result is healthy white teeth.

Prevent/treat Toothaches

In case you have a painful toothache and are unable to visit the dentist, here is a quick solution that can ease the pain. Soak a cotton ball in clove oil and place it over the tooth. The anesthetic effects of clove oil will help relieve the pain. Alternatively, you can also apply ammonia to the aching tooth.

Gum Inflammation

Aloe Vera is known for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as for being antibacterial. If you are suffering from inflamed gums, ease the pain by rubbing aloe gel on to it several times during the day.

Prevent Oral Bacteria

You can prevent the growth of bacteria in the mouth by drinking a few cups of green tea every day. Not only is green tea a good antioxidant, but also helps in inhibiting bacterial growth. As a bonus, you may like to know that many experts suggest green tea for weight loss.

Strengthen Gums

Neem oil has antimicrobial properties that make it a good solution to prevent plaque or strengthen gums. Rinse with neem oil and water twice a day or add a few drops of neem oil to your toothpaste. Alternatively, you can also pick up a herbal toothpaste containing neem oil.

Use this tips to take care of your teeth, gums and breath and enjoy your food and beverages without any twinges or pain.
