Bulimia is an eating disorder found in otherwise normal persons. A person affected with this condition eats fast and then in a reverse action tries to get rid of everything that he or she has eaten. This is sometimes followed by fasting, for a long period of time. This condition, if not treated can be dangerous.

You know you are suffering from bulimia when you are constantly thinking about your body gaining weight and unnecessarily dieting. There are no specific causes for this condition, though genetic, cultural and psychological factors main influence it.

Good Eating Habits

In the condition of Bulimia you should eat not only to satisfy your hunger but also to comfort the soul. If you are satisfied with the food you eat, then it is easy to curtail the urge to eat repeatedly. You should eat food which makes you feel full such as Rice, Beans, Corn, Pumpkins, Barley, sweet potatoes and vegetables.

Adding cilantro, cinnamon, ginger and garlic to your food helps to stimulate your appetite. Use fennel seeds as snacks in your daily diet. The anti appetite suppressant present in the fennel seeds will help you to control your eating disorder. Another way to stop overeating is to add fresh pineapple to your daily breakfast. Eating 3-4 slices of fresh pineapple in the morning after your breakfast can help you to kill your craving for food throughout the day.

Turmeric

In the condition of Bulimia, due to binging and vomiting one can end up getting swollen salivary glands.  To treat these swollen salivary glands, take a glass of warm water and add little turmeric to it. You must gargle your mouth with this warm water for atleast 30 seconds.

Doing this at least twice a day for a few days will heal the swollen salivary glands. Another method of healing swollen salivary glands is gargling with salt water.

Tea

Whenever the unnecessary urges to eating surfaces try drinking some tea mainly herbal tea, fennel tea, Chamomile tea or even Ginger tea.  The properties in these herbal teas will heal the emotional factors in eating disorders.

Drinking such teas will also not harm your system and help you remain full in a healthy manner. Following this regularly this will help in controlling the problem of binge eating.

Juice Fasting

This type of fasting involves having fresh juices throughout the day except for breakfast. Begin your day with a good and refreshing breakfast consisting of cereals.  The rest of the day put yourself on a juice fast. You can have both fresh fruits and fresh vegetable juice.

These fresh juices are rich in minerals, vitamins and enzymes and will make you feel stronger and revitalized. Remember to have these juices without sugar or use natural replacements for sugar. Continue this for some time till you gradually lose the urge of binge eating.

Meditation

Yoga or any other form of meditation is highly recommended. Meditation or other stress management exercises are good in not only cooling and calming the mind, but will also in the long run help you gain control over your digestive system.

There are specific exercises which target the abdominal region and digestive problems of the body. You should also engage in other activities like reading a book or listening to soft music which will help in soothening the internal system and solve the problem of bulimia.
