Share

Prickly heat occurs as a result of hot and humid weather and appears on your skin as red itchy rashes of small vesicles. Also known as Miliaria, it is a skin problem and causes inflammation in those red rashes.

It is a common problem in the season of summer and occurs in people of almost all age groups; yet it is seen more commonly in infants and children as their skin is more delicate compared to adults. The reason of prickly heat is usually underdeveloped sweat glands or blockage of sweat ducts during hot weather. Here are some natural cures to this problem:

Various Ways To Cure Prickly Heat

Sandalwood

Sandal is known for its magical effects on skin. It gives instant relief from itching and inflammation. Take sandal oil and massage it all over the affected area. It will soothe your skin and reduce burning and pinching sensations. If oil is not available, you can try sandalwood powder.

Put some drops of rose water in 3 teaspoons of sandalwood and mix it properly into a paste. Now, apply this paste on the affected areas and let it dry. Wash it after sometime. Sandalwood is also known for decreasing the signs of aging.

Oatmeal

It is known for healing many skin and other diseases. It reduces cholesterol in the body and also helps in removing unnecessary oil from the sweat ducts which causes blockage.

Add some oatmeal powder in your bath tub full of water and stir it well such that the powder gets mixed with the water thoroughly. Now, keep lying in the tub for around 15 to 20 minutes. It calms down inflammation and reduces itchiness. Do it twice a day to see the rashes dumping down fast.

Neem Leaves

They are known to cure a wide number of diseases starting from those associated with internal organs as well as skin problems. They are highly capable of curing problems like itchy skin, prickly heat and also bringing charm to facial skin.

To cure prickly heat problems, you can leave neem leaves dipped in water every night and drink that water in the morning after taking out leaves. If it is too bitter to drink, crush neem leaves and make a paste out of it. Apply this paste to the affected parts and leave it for some time.

Aloe Vera

It is the best remedy for any type of skin problem. It detoxifies blood stream and possesses antimicrobial properties. Rip apart its leaf and take out the gel in a bowl.

Now, you can either apply it as such on the affected areas or you can also have it as juice mixing it well with water. Do either of them at least twice a day.

Cornstarch

It absorbs oil from the skin that is why it is also used before putting makeup. Take some cornstarch and make a thick paste of it using water.

Now, smudge the affected parts with this paste properly and keep it for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. It absorbs the oil from the sweat ducts and cleans them making rashes fade away in a little time. Do it once or twice a day.
