5 Best Home Remedies For Oily Scalp

Share

Some people have dry hair while some have oily ones. You are blessed that you have oily hair because having dry hair means your hair is brittle and rough. It is only that the oil glands in our scalp are a bit over productive. They are inundating your hair with oil.

The result is that it is catching dust particles easily and that is making it sticky. You are not able to exhibit a free flowing lengthy hair to your friends and your boyfriend. A side effect of oily scalp can be acne. You may have quite a few acne on your face. Okay, that is not much of a problem.

Moreover, it can be treated. Once the oily scalp is treated the acne will disappear too. You can begin the treatment yourself and with ingredients available at home. You do not need to go to the drugstore. There are a lot of home remedies for oily scalp. Let us look at those home remedies for oily scalp.

5 Home Remedies For Oily Scalp

Alcohol

It has been observed that alcohol has some drying effect on the scalp and hair. However, you should not apply raw alcohol. It is better to dilute it with some water and apply straight on the hair. Do this at least twice a week. This will reduce the oil content of your scalp and hair to a considerable extent.

Shampoo

When you have oily scalp your shampoo can rectify it. However, you need a shampoo that is kind of a solvent which can wash out the extra oil from scalp and hair. It is better to avoid shampoos with all kinds of additives, conditioners etc.

Adding some dishwashing liquid to it will boost the capacity of the shampoo. So wash your hair thoroughly with the shampoo. This will degrease your hair to a large extent.

Vinegar

Vinegar is helpful in washing out oil, shampoo and even dandruff, if any. Dilute some vinegar with water and rinse your hair with it. You need to do this at least twice a week. This may gift you a free flowing hair and a non-sticky scalp which you had been searching for so far.

Egg White

It has been seen that egg white acts upon oily hair quite strongly unlike the egg yolk which is needed for treating bad hair. Egg white is full of enzymes that feed on bacteria. This can give you quite a respite from excess oil.

So take some raw egg white and mix it in some cold water to avoid the white from getting cooked.  Now smear the scalp and hair. Let it sit there for some time. After that wash off your hair with shampoo.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is acidic in nature, and it can work upon the oil in your hair and scalp and remove it. For this you need to prepare some lemon juice and apply that directly on the scalp. Let it stay there for some time and then wash off. This will bring down the oily mess.
