The symptoms are severe pain during menstruation, cramps during one or two weeks before periods, pain in lower back, pelvic area and after sexual intercourse. Although surgery or drugs are options to treat endometriosis, home remedies will help in eliminating the symptoms as well as the cause. Here are some home remedies to cure endometriosis:
Consumption of fibrous vegetables, especially dark green leafy vegetables should be taken in diet. Leafy vegetables are a rich source of vitamins and fiber. These fibrous vegetables reduce the chances of endometriosis to be contracted further.
Vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower reduces the metabolism of estrogens. Even flax seeds are found to be very helpful in this condition. Avoid animal fat, especially red meat and dairy products as well.
Another effective home remedy for endometriosis is to lead a stress free life. You can reduce stress by involving yourselves in some social activities other than the regular activities like going for a walk, playing games etc.
You can also practice yoga or deep breathing exercises on a daily basis. These activities reduce stress and help in managing endometriosis.
Consuming herbal tea is another good way of relieving pain caused by endometriosis. Ginger tea or chamomile tea is especially useful in treating the pain. As the muscles work more when in pain, the body load increases.
When you consume herbal tea, the body relaxes and thus, there is relief from the pain. Herbal tea can be consumed atleast thrice a day.
Exercise proves to be very beneficial in endometriosis. Fat cells are mainly responsible for the production of various hormones and excessive fat cells may worsen the endometriosis condition. The probability of endometriosis is more in those females who are not too much active physically as compared to those doing regular exercise.
Massage also helps in easing the pain and reducing the discomfort during menstruation. You can take the help of an experienced therapist to massage the pelvic muscles using oils. Taking a hot shower after the massage helps in relieving the pain and relaxing the muscles.
Ice therapy is the best therapy during times of severe pain. When there is pain in the pelvic region, you can wrap some ice in a towel and apply on the area. Continue for atleast 15 minutes to witness the results.
Ice therapy can be followed whenever pain is experienced. You can also try heat treatment by applying a heating pad, as this helps in increasing blood flow to the affected areas. Heat also helps in taking off toxins and waste material.
