5 Easy Home Remedies For Meningitis

Meningitis is an illness that inflames the protective covering of the brain and spinal cord. It is generally caused through infectious viruses and bacteria. The Meningitis caused by viruses is less severe than that caused by bacteria. When bacterial meningitis is not cured on time, it can also result in brain damage and may be fatal.

Meningitis can attack our body any time irrespective of size, gender, age or class. Older people are more at risk to contract Meningitis, as the immune systems begins to weaken with age. As meningitis is contagious and germs can pass on very quickly from the affected person, it is very important to take precautions. The symptoms of meningitis resemble symptoms of common flu, which include headache, fever, nausea, vomiting and severe muscle pain. Sometimes there is trouble in staying awake and also occurrence of seizures. Here are some home remedies which help to reduce effects of meningitis:

Home Remedies For Meningitis

Garlic

It is a natural and effective treatment for Meningitis.  It has anti viral and anti bacterial properties. Take two to three cloves every morning on empty stomach.

One can even take two teaspoons of garlic juice every morning, if eating cloves is a problem. The properties of garlic will reduce the inflammation and with time clear the problem itself. Continue this for 10-15 days.

Soya Bean Milk

Soya bean milk is good for the treatment of Meningitis. It has a lot of curing properties. Take a cup of soya bean milk and add 2 teaspoons of honey to this.

Have this daily in the morning. The curative and healing properties of both soya milk and honey work in tandem to cure the meningitis. Take this milk and honey combination daily for 3-4 months.

Orange Juice/Beetroot Juice

Take some fresh orange juice and dilute it with some warm water. Have this diluted juice as many times as possible in a day. Orange juice will not only give energy to the body, but also help to build body resistance too.

This will in turn facilitate fast and quick recovery. Beetroot juice too is a good healer of Meningitis. Beetroot juice is very strong and thus it helps to build up the resistance in the body.  Beetroot juice should be taken 3 times a day for good results.

Coconut Water

Coconut water helps in healing meningitis as it has anti inflammatory properties. In addition, it also has anti viral and antibacterial properties.

Coconut water replenishes the lost energy and vitality of the body. It also replaces the lost liquid from the body, due to vomiting. Coconut water helps in reducing nausea as well. Give coconut water three to four times a day.

Ginger

The properties present in ginger, help in the healing of Meningitis. Take a big piece of ginger and grate it. Then squeeze this and extract juice from it.

Take any fruit juice twice the quantity of the ginger juice and mix it well. Drink this combination. Ginger will not only fight the infection, but also remove the harmful viruses. Drink this mixture 3 times day for a month.
