Some of the causes are trauma in that area, drying and cracking of nasal membranes, dry climates, any medications, infections, hypertension and hormonal changes. Usually the bleeding occurs from one nostril. Sometimes, when the bleeding is severe, it can occur from both the nostrils. Other symptoms accompanying nose bleeding include dizziness, fainting and light headedness. In extreme cases, bleeding can also occur in urine, or the person can vomit out blood. Nose bleeding can cause significant anxiety and should be treated immediately. Here are some natural ways of curing nose bleeding:
Cold treatment is always desirable, as it gives immediate relief in bleeding. Applying ice on your nose and cheeks will help in stopping nose bleeding. The ice will help in constricting the blood vessels which will result in curbing the bleeding.
You can also put a wet cloth over the head which will effectively stop the bleeding from your nose. If you choose to apply ice, remember not to do this directly. The ice needs to be wrapped in a towel and then applied. This will ensure that the cold reaches the affected area; but no harm is done due to the direct effect.
Lie down backwards and lower your head with the help of a pillow. Put a couple of drops of pure ghee in each nostril, and inhale the aroma of the ghee. The bleeding will stop. You can also drink a cup of milk with a teaspoon of pure ghee added to it. In extremely cold and hot weather conditions nose bleeds mostly occur.
To prevent it, coat your finger with coconut oil and lying down using the finger coat the inner layer of the nose. This will strengthen the fine capillaries and thus prevent nose bleed. Putting a few drops of castor oil daily in your nose will eventually prevent the recurring of nose bleeding.
Freshly sliced onion can be used as a homemade treatment for nosebleed. Take a slice of the onion and place it directly under the nose. The natural fumes of the onion help to clot the blood. You can also take some cotton and soak in with onion juice and place it in the nostrils for 3-4 minutes.
The bleeding will stop. Grapes also help to stop the bleeding immediately. You can take a little sweet grapes juice in a bowl. Try drawing the juice through the nose by straw. This will stop the bleeding almost instantly. You can also put 3-4 drops of the sweet grapes juice in each nostril to stop the bleeding.
Putting 2- 3 drops extracted from basil leaves in each nostril, stops the bleeding completely very fast. Similarly, putting 2-3 drops of pomegranate juice in each nostril stops the bleeding. Saline water serves as a good natural remedy to treat a bleeding nose.
To prepare this mixture take half a glass of water, then add pinch of salt to it. Stir it well, now taking this mixture, spray it into the nostrils. The bleeding will stop.
Soak some figs in water overnight. Eat this first thing in the morning and drink the water. This will help in controlling this problem completely.Eating a piece of coconut every day on empty stomach will also help clear the nose bleeding problem. Soak some dried amla in the night and in the morning wash the head with it. This will cure the problem of nose bleed.
