Share

You are suffering from vitamin deficiency if you have been diagnosed with pellagra. It has been seen that pellagra sufferers have an acute shortage of Vitamin B3 or niacin. Whether you are not taking foods containing vitamin B3 at all or your body can not process this nutrient. There can also be a deficiency of lysine, an amino acid, in the body giving rise to a deficit in niacin.

Whatever be the reason it is resulting in a shortage of niacin in the body. The symptoms of pellagra include increased sensitivity to light, dermatitis, hair loss, reddish skin lesions, difficulty in falling asleep, weakness, diarrhea etc. The disease may render the affected person ugly to look at. However, you can treat this condition and that too at home. There are home remedies for pellagra. Let us look at some of these.

Get More Chicken Breast And Turkey

As the deficiency in lysine is also sometimes indirectly responsible for the deficiency of vitamin B3 you should take foods rich in lysine so that the level of lysine in the body goes up. This will in turn pull the level of niacin and alleviate he symptoms of pellagra.

You can get a lot of lysine in chicken breast, turkey, hazlenuts, walnut etc. This will slowly build up your inventory of lysine and that will promote niacin. Pellagra will be cured slowly.
