It can be wisely said that the population, on the whole, tend to forget or choose to ignore some common actions in our everyday life. The society cannot be faulted as each living day demands our undivided attention and we are pulled into its labyrinth – sometimes at the expense of some common activities like taking care of our health and skin. It’s true that we tend to give attention to our skin as much as possible in our busy lives, but yet we with all due respect – we pay no attention to or we simply forget one basic step. The skin has to be got rid of cellulites and dead skin cells. No matter how much we lotion our skin or go for skin therapies, without a proper exfoliation the benefits would not be complete.
Cellulites can be termed as the fats that come out due to the connective tissues of your skin. Most of the times, cellulites can get accumulated with the dead skin cells. The result is a dangling and ugly looking skin condition that looks sagging and coarse. Skin exfoliation is the best and safest methods to remove such dead skin cells. But this doesn’t mean that you have to run behind a spa every time you think of exfoliation. You can make some interesting homemade scrubs to achieve this. One of the best scrubs can be done using coconut oil and sugar. While you can use any type of sugar, it would be best if you can get hold of brown sugar. Also, sugar is actually coarse and rubbing them on your skin can do a little damage. Hence grind them to a powder before using them for better comfort. Now, let us take a look at some of the homemade coconut oil and sugar scrubs.
¼ cup Coconut oil
½ cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
Few drops of Lavender Essential oil
Mix the coconut oil and sugar to get a thick paste. Use powdered sugar if needed to reduce the coarseness. Now add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to the mix and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Blend well and gently use this scrub like a massage all over your body. After some 15 minutes, take a lukewarm shower. The freshness of the lemon and the richness of coconut oil will act as a natural moisturizer on your body. Use it once a week.
¼ cup Coconut oil
½ cup Sugar
¼ cup crushed Oatmeal powder
1 tablespoon Honey
Try this procedure in case you have not used a scrub for a long period. Both the sugar consistency and the oatmeal crush would be beneficial in removing even the harshest dead skin.
Mix the coconut oil and sugar to get a thick paste. Now add in the crushed oatmeal powder along with the honey. Mix it well to get a solid paste. Add in more coconut oil in case you would like it to be a little jelly. Now scrub this mix all over the body for some five minutes. Later take a lukewarm water shower for the exfoliation process to be complete. We are using both sugar and oatmeal here. Hence naturally this scrub would be a bit coarse. Use a mild skin conditioner if needed.
¼ cup Coconut oil
½ cup Sugar
2 tablespoon Coconut milk
2-3 pieces of Pineapple
Let us try something new here rather than the same old scrub formats. Let us use pineapple for a change. Mix the coconut oil and sugar to get a thick paste. Now take 2 or 3 small pieces of pineapple and grind them to get a thick juice. Do not use water for grinding. Let it grind on its own. Now add this juice along with 2 tablespoons of coconut milk to the sugar mix and blend it well. Scrub it well on your body and relax for some time. Take a shower later to feel the richness.
¼ cup Coconut oil
½ cup Sugar
2 tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel
1 tablespoon Honey
This is one of the easiest scrubs to make without any frills. What’s more, Aloe Vera is so good for your skin that it’s actually compatible with all skin types and you can use them regularly. It effectively oxygenates your skin and makes your skin lively. To make this pack, mix the coconut oil and sugar together and along with mix two tablespoons of fresh Aloe Vera gel. Gels are better but you can use it in a juice format too. Mix a few drops of honey to the mix and massage it well on your face and skin. Rinse well later to get the freshness.
¼ cup Coconut oil
½ cup Sugar
2 tablespoon Cocoa powder
1 tablespoon Coconut Butter
Cocoa powder is getting popular by the day in our beauty regime. No spa is nowadays complete without a therapy involving cocoa. However, you need not check in with a spa every time you need one. You can try one cocoa scrub with coconut oil and sugar at your home. Mix the Coconut oil and sugar and add in two tablespoons of cocoa powder to the mix. Now if required add in a tablespoon of coconut butter and blend it well. Apply the scrub evenly on your face and skin. Massage it a little and let it absorb for some time.
