5 Quick Home Remedies To Retain Teeth And Lip Color

Share

Most of us neglect our dental and oral health. What we don’t know is that majority of the foods we eat affect our oral health. The most common oral health problem is discolouration of teeth and lips. We should always maintain our teeth and lip colour because it affects your appearance. Teeth and lips have aesthetic value and that’s why many orthodontists encourage check-ups and dental campaigns.

Discolouration of lips and teeth can be caused mainly by cigarette smoking, certain foods or medications, some genetic factories or injuries to the jaw. Lack of dental hygiene may be exhibited by discolouration of the teeth, but lips don’t play much role there. You could get your teeth shining and pink lips once again with the help of easy home remedies. Here listed are some of them to help you out:

Home Remedies To Retain Teeth And Lip Color

Strawberries

You can make a fine paste out of 2 or 3 fresh strawberries and mix some baking soda. Once you grind them together to make a paste, apply it over your teeth and leave it overnight.

Practice this remedy for an entire week and you will notice a great difference in the colour of your teeth. Strawberries and baking soda help to cleanse and whiten your teeth in no time.

Lemon And Glycerine

Nothing clears nicotine stains from your lips better than lime juice. Rub some fresh lime juice or lemons over your teeth and lips. Lemon contains bleaching properties so it will help cleanse the lips from all the stains. Apply some glycerine before and after rubbing with lemon.

Sometimes lemon can be too acidic and it could irritate the skin so it is better if you use a moisturising agent along with it. Leave the glycerine on for about 10 minutes after the lemon has been applied and then wash it off.

Almond Oil

This remedy is very helpful for smoker’s lips. Due to nicotine, the lips tend to get darker over time. Dab some cotton into almond oil and apply it over your lips. Leave this overnight. You could mix some moisturising cream with the oil and that will help in retaining the moisture of your lips as well.

You can also use butter to clear the nicotine stains from your lips and teeth. Apply some butter on your lips and leave it overnight. The butter provides moisture and helps get rid of nicotine stains.

Soda Bicarbonate

It is used in the same way as you use toothpaste to brush your teeth. You can practice this remedy once a week. Before you brush your teeth with normal toothpaste, brush them with bicarbonate soda. Rinse it off and then you can use the usual toothpaste. This remedy although effective, takes some time to show the results.

Water

It is the easiest method to keep your teeth stain free. Each time you eat food or smoke a cigarette, it leaves behind stains in your teeth.

You can have a glass of water, rinse and cleanse your mouth by gargling with the water after every meal or after every smoke.  Regularly practicing this along with other remedies can help you get white shiny teeth.
