Coconut has plenty of contents like antioxidants which can do wonders for our facial skin. It helps in keeping the skin soft by lubricating the skin. It is also useful against skin problems like acne. Here are some homemade face masks using coconut oil.
This face mask is best for dull skin. Lemon helps in lightening the skin and it is a natural astringent. Honey helps in keeping the skin soft and supple. Honey also has anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea has plenty of antioxidants. You will need one tablespoon of coconut oil, 2 teaspoons of organic honey, two tablespoons of freshly brewed green tea and few drops of fresh lemon juice. Dip the green teabag in warm water. Take two tablespoons of this green tea for the mask. Mix all the four ingredients. Apply the mask on the face and let it dry. Then wash face with cool water. You can make this facemask without any using green tea. That is you only need to mix coconut oil, honey and lemon juice.
This face mask is effective against acne. It also helps in keeping the skin moisturized. Banana hydrates the skin and also helps in lightening the skin tone. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. For this mask you will need one ripe banana, one tablespoon of coconut oil and a little bit of turmeric powder. You first need to mash the banana. To this add the coconut oil and the turmeric powder and mix well. Apply this mixture to the face and after about fifteen minutes wash your face with water.
Nutmeg helps in exfoliating the skin. Avocado moisturizes the skin and also helps in slowing down the aging process. Please note that you must use very little nutmeg as it can cause skin irritation. For this facemask you will need one tablespoon of coconut oil, one ripe avocado and just a pinch of nutmeg powder. Remove the skin of the avocado and mash the ripe avocado properly and to it add the coconut oil and the nutmeg. Mix well and apply to the face. After 15 minutes wash face with water.
Oatmeal helps in maintaining the pH balance of the skin. For this facemask you will need one tablespoon of coconut oil and two tablespoons of oatmeal and warm water. Take the oatmeal in a bowl and pour the warm water on it. After sometime, mix well to get a smooth paste. To this oatmeal paste add the coconut oil and mix well. Apply the mask to the face and wash with cold water after 15 minutes.
This facemask helps in brightening the skin. It also helps in reducing the redness of the skin. It has a soothing effect on the skin. For this facemask you will need half cup of plain yogurt, one tablespoon of coconut oil and few drops of fresh lemon juice. Whisk the yogurt in a bowl and to it add the coconut oil and lemon juice. Mix well and apply the face mask for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes wash the facemask with cold water.
