Vitamin A and vitamin B are very effective in treating glaucoma. Vitamin A improves the night vision and vitamin B improves eye sight. Take 1000 mg each of vitamin A and vitamin B on regular basis in the form of multivitamin supplement tablets. You can also include foods rich in vitamin A and vitamin B in your daily diet such as carrots, potatoes, (vitamin A), fish, eggs, cheese (vitamin B). Vitamin C is very effective in treating glaucoma.
You can either take vitamin C supplements or consume foods rich in vitamin C such as citrus fruits like oranges, watermelon etc. Take foods rich in vitamin E such as almond, sunflower seeds etc as it will help to keep the retina clear, keeping your eyes healthy and improving your vision and will thus prevent glaucoma. You can even take vitamin E supplements.
Fennel is used in the kitchen for salads, but this herb is also very good for treating eye problems. You can have raw fennel or use it in salad or take dried herb in some hot water, let it steep more some time and then drink the tea.
You can also use this tea as an eyewash as it will be more effective. Cayene-use small amounts of cayene; dilute it well with water or you can even use it as an eye drop using a dropper. Cayenne increases the flow of blood to the eyes.
Ginkgo biloba can be used as it increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the eye and also removes toxins. You can mix it well with zinc sulfate and then use it as it will slow down rapid loss of vision.
Rutin-Rutin is rich in vitamin C. you should take 40-60 mg of rutin 3 times every day. This will reduce the pain and will be very effective in treating glaucoma.
Eat spinach and take spinach extract on regular basis because they contain carotenoid needed for retina and eye tissue. Carotenoid present in the spinach helps to keep the eyes healthy and improves vision.
Berries-Have dark coloured berries like blueberries, cranberries. They strengthen the eye capillaries and thus prevent glaucoma.
Avoid having foods that contain sugar to prevent diabetes. Eat healthy food. You should also quit smoking and avoid exposure to tobacco and other products containing tobacco as they increase the risk of diabetes.
Diabetes leads to eye disease and hence cause glaucoma. So you should get rid of diabetes to prevent glaucoma. Thus by following these 5 tips, you can prevent glaucoma to a great extent.
