5 Ways To Treat Dry Skin

Share

The skin protects the body from all the elements of harsh weather, dust, pollution and other foreign substances which would cause untold harm to the body, if it had not been protected by the skin. The skin produces a natural oil which is known as sebum. This oil keeps the skin soft, supple and elastic. If the skin produces insufficient amounts of sebum then the skin becomes dry and itchy. It also becomes red, rough and coarse.

Dry skin is usually caused by insufficient nutrition and insufficient moisture. It can also be caused by certain skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, harsh soaps and bath gels, certain medications, low humidity levels in the house and office and excessively hot baths or showers. There are innumerable home remedies that can heal your dry skin and keep it looking soft, beautiful and well moisturized.
