You do not need to down expensive pills to treat such sores. Even anti-inflammatory ointments can be done away with. There are some herbs that can heal canker sores quite effectively. Herbal Remedies For Canker Sores

Goldenseal

Goldenseal herb has been used since ancient times to treat inflammatory conditions. It can heal inflamed tissues quite effectively. You can use goldenseal mouth wash to treat these sores.

Mix one quarter teaspoon of goldenseal powder in a cup of warm water, stir well and use it as a mouthwash. Use it regularly to wash the inside of your mouth until the sore has subsided.

Ginger

The compound gingerol present in ginger makes it a very effective anti-inflammatory herb. This has been used since ancient times to treat a variety of inflammatory conditions. You can use ginger tea to wash the inside of your moth every day.

Alternatively you can use of paste of ginger and honey on the sores. Honey itself is anti-inflammatory in nature. The combined effect of ginger and honey will cure the sores within a few days.

Licorice

The licorice root is a great healer of damaged tissues. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory herb. Sucking on a root of licorice every day is enough to relieve the pain and burning associated with canker sores. The root has a sweet taste.

Echinacea

Echinacea has tremendous wound healing character. Moreover, this herb has the ability to boost your immune system thereby helping the body to act on the sore fast. Echinacea has been used quite effectively in treating mouth ulcers.

It is available in liquid form. Have a swish with this liquid two to three times a day and then swallow it. Do it thrice a day for two to three days. The canker sores will disappear.

Chamomile

The cankers sore is irritating the mucus lining inside your mouth. You need something that can sooth the lining. In this respect chamomile herb can be quite effective. It can also heal sores. A swish with chamomile tea two to three times a day is enough to cure the sores within a few days.

Aloe Vera

This is a famed anti-inflammatory herb that has been used since time immemorial to treat various inflammatory conditions of the skin. The same property can be made use of to heal ulcers inside the mouth. You can use a swish of aloe vera juice to heal the canker sores.
