Body scrubs and facial scrubs are pretty in! But lip scrubs? Lips are often neglected when it comes to scrubbing but do you know that skin on lips is actually more thinner and much more sensitive than that of facial skin? In fact, skin over the lips tend to dry faster and a mild exfoliant is must to slough away to reveal smoother, luscious lips. Here are some chemical free lip scrub recipes that will make your lips absolutely kissable!!
All the ingredients of this homemade lip scrub are edible. So if by chance some gets into your mouth, there is no need to worry. It won’t harm you.
Almond oil: 1 tsp
Organic honey: 1 tsp
Sugar (any variety): 2 tsp.
Make a paste by mixing all the ingredients in a small bowl. Massage a small quantity on your lips with help of your finger. Rinse with lukewarm water.
This flavorsome lip scrub will surely make you crave to lick some!!
Coconut oil: 2 tbsp
Brown sugar: 2 tsp
Freshly grounded nutmeg: ¼ tsp
Ginger: 1 tsp
Cinnamon: ½ tsp
Take a small glass jar and add all the ingredients in it. Stir with a spoon or spatula. Store in a cool place. To use scrub, rub a small quantity with help of your finger on your lips for a minute. Thereafter leave it on the lips for another 2 minutes. Rinse with plain water.
This lip scrub will not only slough off the dead skin, it will also make your lips plumper.
Brown sugar: 2 tbsp
Olive oil: ½ tbsp
Organic raw honey: ½ tbsp
Cinnamon powder: 1/ tsp
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Scrub your lips to gently do away with dry, dead skin. Rinse and follow with a lip balm.
Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, Peppermint soothes dry and cracked lips. Its cooling sensation enhances microcirculation while causing a numbing sensation making lips plumper.
Honey: 1 tsp
Sweet almond oil: 1 tsp
Peppermint essential oil: 1 drop
Brown sugar: ½ tsp
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Take a dime sized amount on your finger and scrub your lips with it for 20 seconds. Rinse with lukewarm water. Store the rest in cool and dark place.
This lip scrub is easy to make and looks as good as any commercially available scrub.
Caster sugar: 1 tbsp
Jojoba Oil: 1 tbsp
Red food color: a few drops
Mix a tablespoon of castor sugar and jojoba oil each until you get a smooth consistency. You may even replace jojoba oil with olive oil. Once you get the required consistency, add the food color and mix. Your lip scrub is ready to use.
While coconut oil will add the required moisture to the scrub, lime juice will brighten your lips color.
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Coconut Oil: 1 tbsp
Lime Juice: 1 squeeze
Coconut Flakes: 1 tsp
Use a double boiler to melt coconut oil. Remove from heat and add sugar. Stir and mix well. Wait for it to cool. Just before it begins to solidify, add lime juice and coconut flakes. Store in a container with a tight fitting lid. Use it to gently scrub your lips and remove all dead skin cells and get super smooth pout.
