6 Simple Home Remedies For Dry Feet

Dry feet are one of those beauty blahs which do not let you wear your favorite stilettos and nail paints. You always fear that highlighting your dry feet with fancy sandals or bright nail paints will bring your otherwise obscure and shabby looking feet to limelight.

Besides, extremely dry feet can lead to complications like itching, cracking of soles, dermatitis or psoriasis, difficulty in walking, burning sensation, etc.  If you despair due to your dry feet and accompanying problems than some easy and fast home remedies can help you get beautiful and soft feet worth flaunting.

Home Remedies For Dry Feet

Vaseline And Lime Juice

Before retiring to bed, take a tablespoon of Vaseline and mix a tea spoon of lime juice into it. Massage your feet with this mix for 10 minutes in circular motions and wear cotton socks.

The next day, your feet will feel far more soft and petty. Apply regularly for best results.

Ripe Bananas

Ripe bananas are an excellent remedy for dry feet and cracked heels. Next time, when everybody refuses to eat over ripe bananas at your home, do not throw them away.

Mash them to a smooth paste and apply on your feet. Wait for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water followed by cold water. Your feet will begin to feel soft and smooth with first application only.

Milk Cream

Before taking bath, take some milk cream and mix in it a quarter spoon of common salt. Mix well and apply on your feet. Massage in circular motion for 5- 10 minutes.

Let it stay on your skin for some time. Wash off with plain water. Salt will help in sloughing off dead cells and milk cream will provide moisture to your skin. Soap is not needed.

Olive Oil

Before going to your bed, applying olive oil can also help in keeping the dryness away. Take some warm olive oil and massage on your clean feet. Wear a pair of cotton socks. During winters, you can wear woolen socks also.

Foot Soak

You can soak your foot in warm water at the end of the day for relaxing your feet and banishing the dryness. Adding a spoonful of Epsom salt will help in making your feet relaxed and soft.

You can also make a nice scrub with Epsom salt. Take a teaspoon of Epsom salt and mix it with some olive oil. Massage on your feet gently and wash off with plain water. Epsom salts are easily available on medical shops are relatively inexpensive. You can use them in the foot soak on daily basis for making your feet soft and beautiful.

Vegetable Oil

Massaging your feet with vegetable oils immediately after bath will also help in reliving dryness. Any vegetable oil will do. Massage the oil on damp feet for locking moisture.

If the problem persists even after using these effective home remedies then check with your doctor. Sometimes, diabetes also causes extremely dry feet. If the problem is caused by diabetes then controlling blood sugar levels becomes imperative.
