There is a saying that a person can live even without food for many days, but cannot survive without water for a few days. Your body is made up of two-thirds of water. Every individual cell in your body and organ depends on water for its survival. Water is like a lubricant. It is mandatory to make your body function properly without any hiccups. Water imbalance can be very harmful and dehydration can lead to a number of disorders – both temporary and permanent. Many people ignore the fact that they do not need water and take it up only when they are really thirsty. This is extremely bad for your health. Based on your body weight and your activity levels an average person has to intake at least 6 to 10 glasses of water per day. In case you are a sports person or if you are in a job where you sweat heavily, then the water intake levels have to be increased. Inadequate hydration of your body leads to lack of fluids in your body. There are some common indications your body sends out when it feels that it is low on water. Give it a thought and do not take them lightly. Let us look at some of the warning signs your body sends up.

1. Frequent Headaches

Your brain is surrounded by a fluid that protects them from damage and keeps them healthy. Keeping your body hydrated is much needed for this fluid to perform efficiently and lack of water levels in your body can lead to headaches and in some cases even light headedness. Dehydration also leads to migraines and hampers the oxygen supply to the brain. This makes your brain over worked and you might suffer from fatigue and headaches constantly. Do not take the pain in your head lightly as they are one of the clear indications that your body is lacking water.

2. Dry Mouth

Adequate water contents are required by your body to produce saliva. Lack of saliva leads to a dry and sore mouth. Your saliva has antibacterial properties that are needed to keep away the germs and infections in your mouth. Lack of it can cause the germ build up in your mouth and can cause bad breath as a result. Water is technically a lubricant that can fix this. Keep your body hydrated at all times when you experience a sore mouth or if you are having a poor breath for a longer duration.

3. Constipation

In a way, water is very much needed for the proper functioning of your digestive system. The water body breaks down and dissolves the food and this makes your body easy to digest them. Water also helps in the maintenance of a robust digestive tract. If this flexibility is hampered, it can lead to constipation and other disorders of the digestive system. Keep your body hydrated at all times and maintain the water contents. In the case of severe diarrhea too your body would lose the water quantities and you would need to refill the lost water levels in your system.

4. Urinary Infection

Urinary infections are clear cut indications that your body is lacking water. Also, an average person will be using the restroom every 4 to 5 hours. If this is not the case, then make no mistake – Your body definitely needs hydration. Regular intake of water is needed for regular urination. Also, the color of your urine might change in case of low water levels. Do not ignore these warning signs. Have 6 to 8 glasses of water daily to maintain your hydration levels.

5. Fatigue

In case you do not have any ailments but you constantly feel weak and restless, then your body is clearly lacking adequate water levels. Low water contents in your body curtail the oxygen supply in your body. As a result of this, your brain may get less amount of oxygen and the result is a feeling of weakness, fatigue, and lethargic sensation. Further to it, lack of hydration does not make your body provide the adequate energy levels. Take enough water on a daily basis to overcome these indications.

6. Dry Skin And Lips

Water makes the elasticity of your skin robust. It makes your skin appear neat and supple and smooth. Also, lack of water in your body makes your skin to sweat less. Have a regular intake of water and keep your body hydrated at all times.
