Dry and chapped lips problem is a common problem worldwide and millions of people suffer from it especially in winter season. Dry and chapped lips not only spoil the beauty of the victim but it also gives pain.
In winter season, people get less thirsty. This makes them drink less water. This leads to dehydration which eventually causes dry and chapped lips problem. Therefore you should keep yourself hydrated by drinking at least 4 liters of water per day.
You should not drink water just to quench your thirst but even if you are not thirsty, you should drink a glass of water after a gap of 2-3 hours. It is one of the best and cheapest (almost free) home remedies for dry and chapped lips.
Olive oil is a good source of Vitamin E which protects your skin in many ways. It is one of the most essential vitamins for skin care. This oil is used to heal cracked skin and dry skin.
Apply this oil 3-4 times a day on your dry and chapped lips. It will keep your lips moist and prevent dryness. After using once or twice you will start feeling the difference.
Coconut oil is also a good remedy to get relief from dry and chapped lips. This oil is also loaded with nutrients which are very beneficial for skin. Apply coconut oil on your chapped lips 3-4 times a day. It will heal your problemsoon and will prevent your lips from getting dried further.
Pure milk cream alone is good enough to give you great relief from dry and chapped lips. However, if you add lime juice and rose water in it and apply on your chapped lips, you would get double benefits. Chapped lips are also attacked by bacteria which worsens your condition.
In order to prevent bacterial attack, you can add a pinch of turmeric powder in milk cream. Since turmeric possess antibiotic, anti fungal and anti bacterial properties, it kills the bacteria present there and also prevents your lips from further attack of germs and bacteria. The mixture of turmeric and pure milk cream is very effective in soothing your lips and in replenishing the lost moisture of your lips.
Shea butter is also an excellent remedy to cure dry and chapped lips. Apply a coat of shea butter on your lips.Due to its thickness, it protects your lips from losing moisture and also keeps your lips moist throughout the day. You can apply it again if it is washed due to any reason.
Honey is also effective in giving you relief from dry and chapped lips. Apply honey on your lips 2-3 times a day if you don’t get shea butter or pure milk cream.
Glycerin is very effective in healing cracked skin. It remains on your skin for a longer period and keeps your skin moist. Apply glycerin at least once in a day.
