When bees and wasps sting they inject a venomous poison into the skin of the victim through their stingers and cause severe burning pain. The skin begins to inflame and redden. Normal stings are localized and the pain can go away after a few hours. But sometimes they can spread to the surrounding areas of the bitten skin and the pain may take several weeks to abate.
The first precautionary step is to remove the stingers immediately after the sting and reduce their venomous activity. You can pluck them either by hand or a pair of tweezers. Some people are allergic to bee venom and in this instance, the longer the stinger is allowed to remain in the skin, the more severe the allergic reaction will be. It can lead to a life threatening allergic reaction called anaphylaxis which gives rise to nausea, difficulty in breathing and vomiting.
Put some crushed ice in a thin towel. Twist the ends to form a round shape. Place it on the sting and keep it pressed in place for at least fifteen minutes. The swelling and the pain will reduce after sometime.
Apple cider vinegar has the ability to neutralize the effect of the venom due to its acid content. Dip a cotton ball into apple cider vinegar and apply it to the sting. Keep pressing the cotton ball to the wound until the pain disappears.
Turmeric powder is anti-inflammatory and has the ability to reduce pain and heal quickly. Mix turmeric powder with a little ghee to form a paste. Apply the paste to the wound. Bind with a soft thin cloth or gauze. The ghee soothes the hot irritated skin and reduces the effect of the venom. Turmeric reduces the swelling and effects quick healing.
Cucumber is a natural astringent and cooler. Place a slice of cucumber on the sting and keep rubbing it and pressing it on the wound for sometime. Let it remain there. The pain will abate and disappear after a while.
Onion has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which neutralize the venom and reduce the burning pain quickly and efficiently. Make onion paste and apply it on the sting. Rub gently so that the cooling juice can permeate the skin. As soon as the juice penetrates the skin the itching and pain will stop.
Raw potato has many healing qualities and it is very beneficial in bee stings. It is alkaline in nature and has detoxifying properties. It relieves inflammation and soothes the irritated skin. Grate one raw potato. Squeeze the juice and rub it slowly over the wound. After doing this, bind a potato slice to the wound and keep it there until the pain vanishes.
Garlic is very useful in treating bee stings and is always available in the house. Take two or three cloves of fresh garlic and pound them coarsely. Apply the crushed garlic to the sting and bind it with a soft thin bandage. Keep it till all the soreness and pain vanish.

I don't know why but hands down the best remedy for a bee or wasp sting is yellow mustard ! A little squirt and the pain is gone ! We know a little girl that seems to be a bee /wasp magnet ?This works every time instant no tears !
It is most likely the turmeric in the mustard. I have used turmeric, both in a poultice and by mouth and it helps heal skin issues quicker.
