Here Are A Few At Home Remedies That You Can Try To Get Some Relief

Hearty Breakfast

It helps to start your day with a large nutrient rich meal to ensure that you stay full during the day. The prominent reason why most people crave caffeine is that they feel low on energy and it becomes necessary to have a healthy and filling meal at the start of your day if you intend to give up your caffeine addiction. Include foods which are high on proteins and low in carbs as consuming a diet which consists of carbohydrates tends to make you feel lethargic and will prompt you to turn to coffee to kill that feeling.

Almond Milk

Next time when you feel an impulse to drink coffee, consider drinking almond milk instead. Almond milk is rich in magnesium and calcium. Magnesium plays a key role in many bodily functions and is crucial for a healthy brain function. Over-consumption of caffeine results in elimination of these essential nutrients from our body. It is therefore advised to up their intake through food and what better way than substituting coffee with the healthful almond milk!

Water

Another remedy to combat caffeine addiction is water. Adequate intake of water will help clear the caffeine stored in the body. Plus it’s a readily available item at home for drinking whenever there is an impulse to consume caffeine laden beverage.

Green Tea

In case you still feel like getting a little bit of caffeine but at the same time wish to continue with your journey towards caffeine de-addiction then it’s better to switch to green tea. Green tea has just the right amount of caffeine to keep you going and is a healthier alternative to coffee.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is an excellent way to soothe symptoms like nausea, irritability and indigestion that may arise as a result of withdrawal of caffeine. Ginger also contains a little caffeine, about 4 milligrams per cup, which makes it an ideal substitute for other caffeinated beverages. To prepare ginger tea boil some water and add peeled and grated ginger root and let it simmer for a few seconds. Strain into a cup and add a spoon of honey or maple syrup.

Steam Inhalation

Inhaling steam on a regular basis will get you rid of the excess caffeine and other toxins stored inside the body. You can even add a few drops of peppermint or lemon oil into the steamer along with water and inhale the vapors. The aroma of the oils will ease your craving for caffeine.

Bathing With Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is very effective in eliminating harmful substances from the body if it’s added in bathing water. Add a teaspoon of the salt in your bathing tub filled with warm water and soak yourself in it to get rid of the toxins.

Vitamin C

Yet another thing you can easily do at home to combat caffeine addiction is include foods rich in Vitamin C such as oranges, lemon, chicken and gooseberries, as it’s known to be very effective in dealing with the symptoms of withdrawal that may arise after you attempt to cut down on caffeine.

People who load themselves with caffeine become deficient in Zinc, another vital component in our body as caffeine has an ability to interfere with its absorption in the body and also leads to its exit from the body. It is therefore fundamental to consume foods which are high in zinc like almonds, pumpkin seeds, mushroom, oysters, chicken, spinach and beans
