Vitiligo is an auto immune condition where the body’s own pigment cells or melanocytes are attacked by the immune system. Ginger helps in increasing immunity and improving the blood circulation to the patchy area. This will stimulate the production of melanocytes and slowly encourage the regeneration of the patchy skin. Ginger juice can be taken twice a day on its own or it can be mixed with red clay as well for maximum benefit.

Turmeric And Sesame Seeds

The benefits of turmeric for restoring skin health and repairing the damage caused on the skin is well known. Turmeric and sesame seeds can be made into a paste and applied on the white patches for relieving the absence of melanocytes and removing the patches naturally.

Grind turmeric and sesame seeds in equal amounts and make it into a paste. Apply on the affected spot and leave it on for a few hours. Reapply as and when needed. This will encourage the production of melanocytes and prevent vitiligo from spreading.

The juice of lemon can be mixed with almonds and applied on a daily basis on the patches. This is another way to treat the patches of vitiligo. Take the juice of lemon and mix it with ground almond to form a paste.

Leave a thick paste on the patchy skin and allow it to remain there all throughout the day. Almond has vitamin E, which plays a role in restoring the skin to normalcy, and lemon exfoliates the skin and brings the new skin out from within.

Papaya

Papayas are known to be an effective cure for treating vitiligo. Take a ripe papaya and mash it. Apply on the skin and let it dry on the skin. A much more simple remedy is to apply papaya juice instead of the mashed papayas and allow it to dry on the patches.

Melanin production will be stimulated and the skin restored to its normal colour with constant application of the mashed papayas or the juice. Juice of the fruit can be consumed internally as well for internal healing of the problem.

Radish seeds are known to have a positive influence on vitilgo patients. It encourages melanin regeneration and helps in restoring the normal colour of the skin with diligent application. Take 35 grams of radish seeds and grind it to a powder form. Add two teaspoons of vinegar to this and make it into a paste. Apply on the white patches and leave it on for several hours.

Basil leaves can be grinded to a paste form and adequate amounts of lemon juice added to this. This mixture is excellent for melanin regeneration.Apply on the patches every day and allow it to remain on the white patches at all times for quick skin regeneration and repair. This is known to be an effective treatment against vitiligo.

Celery is a vegetable that can be added in plenty in the diet of the vitiligo patient. The vegetable is known to contain psoralens which are compound that the natural response of the skin to sunlight. Celery is a natural and effective cure against vitiligo.

Seeds of tamarind and psoralea are known to cure the patches of vitiligo. Take equal quantities of psoralea and tamarind seeds and soak them in water for four days.

Allow the seeds to get dried thoroughly. Grind the seeds to a smooth paste and apply on the white patches. Frequent application is known to reduce the white patches and make them invisible with time.

Cucumber And Alfalfa

Cucumber is a skin friendly vegetable and is known to reduce the appearance of blemishes and patches. Mixed with alfalfa, it becomes a strong remedy for vitiligo. Take 100 grams of cucumber juice and 100 grams of alfalfa and this juice can be drunk two times a day. The patches will soon start developing melanin and will fade away with this treatment.

Mustard Oil And Turmeric

Just like turmeric and sesame seeds, a mixture of turmeric and mustard seeds are known to be very curative in the treatment of vitiligo.

Take half kilogram of turmeric and soak it in water for 8-9 hours. Boil the turmeric sticks in water and strain the water. This can be applied along with mustard oil on the white patches. Continue application for 2-3 months for the symptoms to subside.

Indian Gooseberry And Catechu

A paste prepared from Indian gooseberry and catechu along with some honey can treat vitiligo at home. Apply the paste and let it dry on the skin. Constant application will stimulate melanocytes and help the skin regenerate, thereby removing the white patchy appearance on the skin.

Copper Water

Copper is known to boost immunity and is a treatment for many fertility related problems and for killing bacteria. Drinking copper infused water is known to be a great treatment for vitiligo.

Take some water and store in a copper bowl or pot overnight. The water will be infused with copper ions and when this water is taken, it stimulates the production of melanin in the body. Daily intake of copper water will slowly reduce the skin pigmentation and the skin will attain its natural colour.

According to a special Ayurvedic diet, 600 grams of raw cucumber has to be added to three betel leaves and taken for 40 days together three times a day. Bitter gourd too has to be added to the diet at this time. This will ensure the production of melanin and the patient relieved from depigmentation of skin.
