Drumstick Leaves
Chop and mash a few drumstick leaves and extract its juice. Add sesame oil (2 tbsp) to the extracted juice and mix well. Apply this every day on the area affected by scabies and leave for about 20 minutes and wash with water. The anti-microbial property of the drumstick leaves will help in soothing itchiness and irritation.
Onions
This effective home remedy for scabies is used along with sea salt. Purchase coarse sea salt from any food store. Simply cut a few onions into half. Fill the sea salt in the center (scoop out the center portion of the onions) and put them aside in a vessel to soften. The liquid obtained can be applied directly to the scabies rashes. Apply for about 3-4 times per day until the rashes disappear completely.
Also, the onion skins have a high amount of a substance known as quercetin, which provides a healing and soothing effect. Take water (1 quart) and add skins of about 12 medium sized onions and boil for thirty minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and soak the affected area in this liquid.
Tea Tree Oil
This is perhaps the most efficient remedy for treating scabies as it clears up the rashes in less than two weeks. Apply the oil to the affected area regularly, so that it works effectively on scabies. Also, you can include a bit of tea tree oil in the warm bath water to relieve itching.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is probably the most versatile and useful plant known to mankind. The leaves of this plant are used to treat a range of problems from curing digestive ailments to heal burns. You can use the fresh aloe gel to treat scabies as well. Apply the gel on the rashes to get rid of the itching. You can also purchase pure Aloe Vera gel from the drugstores and supermarkets.
Cold Water
The inflammation and itching sensation caused due to scabies can be relieved temporarily by placing wet/damp towels on the affected areas or by soaking the lesion in cold water.
Mustard Oil
This remedy is found to be quite effective in treating this contagious disease. The skin mites causing infection are killed by applying mustard oil. The affected area is soaked generously with mustard oil to get best results.
Garlic
The antiparasitic and antibiotic properties of garlic are quite helpful in treating scabies. You could consume garlic directly or in the form of capsules. It is recommended to take 2 capsules, 3 times a day.
Walnut
A chemical known as juglone is present in walnuts. This is quite effective in getting rid of the mites that causes the ailment. Put whole walnuts in water (2 cups) and boil until it is reduced to half. Use this water to soak the lesions. This will help in treating scabies quickly.

Petroleum Jelly
This is an unconventional remedy for treating scabies. There have been positive reports about using petroleum jelly and it is found to be more effective, when mixed with a bit of sulfur. Both these ingredients are easily available in the drugstores. Mix petroleum jelly and sulfur in the ratio of 9:1.
Apply this mixture to the infected part and also to other parts of the body, as this avoids the mites moving to another place. Continue to do this as often as you can, so that the mites are killed eventually and you can get rid of the ailment. However, avoid this remedy, in case you are sensitive to sulfur.
Neem
Mix together mustard oil and turmeric powder. Add this to a paste of neem leaves. Apply this paste all over the body. Leave for about an hour and then take bath. Make sure to do the spot test, as mustard oil can cause irritation in some people. Alternatively, boil neem leaves in water and drink this liquid (about a tablespoon) everyday to get rid of the problem.
Turmeric
Turmeric is known for its anti-bacterial property and is being used for hundreds of years in the Asian continent to treat scabies. Mix turmeric and a bit of water to form a paste. Spread this evenly on the rashes to relieve itching and treat the ailment.
