Baked Vegetables
Baked vegetables such as baked potato, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potatoes, green beans, asparagus and lettuce are delicious and kind on your belly. Avoid raw vegetables in general, specifically raw tomato, onion, peppers and radish. Cooked food can also cause gastric reflux syndrome; boiled and mashed potato and French fries can be really acidic.
Lean Meat and High Protein
Lean meats such as skinned chicken, white turkey meat, lean beef and steak are favorable foods for a GERD-compatible stomach.
Egg white and lean fish are high in protein, and therefore suitable for inclusion in a GERD diet. Fried meat, chicken nuggets, marbled sirloin and fat-loaded ground beef are incompatible for a GERD digestive system, and are best avoided.
Low-Fat Dairy Products
Stop binging on your favorite chocolate, ice cream, or processed cheese unless you have ensured that it is the low-fat alternative of the classic preparations. Dairy options that will comply better with GERD stomach are feta cheese or goat cheese, soy milk and low-fat cream cheese.

High-Fiber Grains
High-fiber grains are non-acidic and stimulate the digestive system. You can have breads made of bran or oatmeal cereals, brown rice, and millets. Graham crackers, corn bread, pretzels and pizza can be consumed. They will ensure digestion of the food consumed, and its timely excretion.
Avoid low-fiber processed foods such as white bread, commercial pastries and other breads made of refined flours. Caffeinated drinks, and whole milk and alcoholic beverages should be avoided, as these are acid-forming foods.
