Nobody likes walking around with a corn on their feet. Not only is the movement uncomfortable it can also be painful if the corn is not treated in time. Corns in the foot are fairly common skin disorder and are caused mainly by ill-fitting shoes or high heels. Walking with an abnormal gait as a result of heels or tight shoes leads to hardening of the skin where maximum pressure is applied. The hardening of the skin is an automatic response of the skin tissues to protect themselves from any wear and tear.
The hardened skin becomes a corn with passage of time. Corns can be hard to get rid of if not treated as soon as possible. Living with corns is not an option since they will make a simple chore like walking impossible. Medically, corns can be removed only by a small surgery. There are over-the-counter creams and medicated band aids available for treating corns but these are mostly gimmicky in nature. The only successful way of getting rid of corns is using home remedies. The home remedies for curing corns take time but they are as effective as surgery and without the expense.
