Best Herbal Remedies For Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts are formed within the ovaries during a woman’s reproductive years. They can occur at any age and range widely in size. They can be as small as a pebble or becomes as big as a plum. These cysts are the result of an accumulation of fluid within the thin ovary wall.

If an ovarian follicle is bigger than two centimeters then it happens to be an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts cause several symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles, pelvic pain, breast pain and tenderness, swelling, bloating, pelvic pain before and during menstruation, heavy bleeding during menstruation, heaviness in the abdomen and pain when passing stool.

The main causes for cysts are hormonal imbalances, irregular periods, certain medicines taken to treat infertility, hypothyroidism, breast cancer and cigarette smoking.

Herbal Remedies For Ovarian Cysts

Chasteberry

Chasteberry has powerful medicinal values which treat all kinds of gynecological problems. The berries contain large amounts of diterpenes which directly influence the pituitary gland and cause them to produce less estrogen and more of progesterone thereby helping to maintain the hormonal balance.

It also helps to shrink the cyst and ultimately to dissolve it. It also brings considerable relief in the pelvic pain and regulates the blood flow during menstruation. Boil a cup of water and steep two teaspoons of the dried berries into it for fifteen minutes after which strain the tea and drink three cups on a regular basis.

Licorice

Licorice has been used in ayurvedic medicine since time unknown for its valuable healing and curative powers. Brew licorice tea by boiling some pounded root in one glass of water for three minutes.

Allow the tea to stand for five minutes after which filter it and drink two cups regularly. The tea will not only restore the hormonal balance but will also help remove the ovarian cysts. It will also improve the health and function of the adrenal glands.

Red Clover

The blossoms of this herb are full of vital nutrients like vitamin C, calcium, potassium and magnesium which act as a tonic and sustain the health of the reproductive system in women.

It has an abundance of isoflavones which are water soluble chemicals and which behave like estrogens in the body. It improves fertility and removes the irregularity of the menstrual cycle. Add two teaspoons of the dried red clover flowers to a cup of boiling water and steep for fifteen minutes. Filter the tea and drink three to four cups daily.

Black Cohosh

Black cohosh plays an important role in improving blood circulation and in balancing the hormones which in turn prevent the growth of cysts and help dissolve the existing cysts. It also relives menstrual cramps and regulates the blood flow. Take one 80 mg tablet of black cohosh daily.

Dandelion

Dandelion is full of powerful medicinal values which reduce the pain and swelling and help to flush out the toxins and excess hormones which may stimulate cyst growth. Its anti-inflammatory properties bring tremendous relief in the pelvic pain and reduce the heaviness in the abdomen. Drink an infusion of dandelion three times daily.
