Valerian Root

This herb is widely used for treating and curing innumerable diseases and ailments and is an important constituent of the home medicine cabinet. It is very good for inducing restful sleep. It does not cause grogginess or a heavy head the next morning as most prescription do.  It relaxes the whole nervous system, reduces stress and releases nervous tension. Take 500 mg of valerian root extract daily.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea has many health giving benefits. Its medicinal values are very valuable in healing and curing a vast number of diseases and bodily disorders. This herb is extremely safe and can be easily used for long periods.

It has sedative properties that relax the nervous system and the brain and restore the balance in the neurotransmitters. Boil a cup of water and add two teaspoons of chamomile to it. Steep for ten minutes after which strain the tea and drink it half an hour before going to bed.

Lemon Balm

This herb has been used since ancient times for treating and curing a wide range of diseases and ailments. It has superb antidepressant, sedative, stimulant, restorative and antispasmodic properties. It relaxes the nerves and enhances the function of the nervous system. Steep some bruised leaves of lemon balm into a cup of boiling water. After ten minutes strain the tea, add one teaspoon of honey and drink three cups daily.

Kava Kava

This is a very potent herb for relieving anxiety and stress and restoring the function of the neurotransmitters. It elevates the mood by calming the agitated nerves and promotes a feeling of well being and relaxation.

It enables a night of restful sleep without causing a heavy head in the morning. Take some fresh kava kava root and grind it to fine powder. Soak one tablespoon of the powder in a glass of cold water for twenty five minutes. Drink this mixture before going to bed.

Skullcap

Skullcap is a perennial herb. It soothes and stimulates the nervous system, eases muscle tension and relieves stress. It promotes sound and restful sleep. Boil a cup of water and steep two teaspoons of skullcap leaves into it for ten minutes. Strain the tea and drink three cups daily.
