Share

At some point of time in life, every woman experiences breast soreness. The breast and nipples become tender and the slightest touch causes pain. Most commonly, the breasts become sore right before the time of periods and continue to be tender till the end of periods.  This type of pain and soreness is known as cyclic pain, which happens due to hormonal changes occurring at the time of periods or when one is on a hormonal medication.

The milk glands and breast tissues tend to swell up retaining fluid making the breasts tender, heavy and painful. Other reasons can be unusual weight gain, wrong type of bra that does not provide enough support or some kind of injury. The non cyclical breast soreness can be due to formation of cysts and fibroids where the pain is very acute and one may feel a burning sensation inside the breasts.  This type of pain should be immediately taken care of as there are chances that it can be a sign of breast cancer.

Home Remedies For Breast Soreness

Mustard Oil

Warm some mustard oil and massage your breasts with it for fifteen minutes. Mustard oil is rich in magnesium and other key nutrients which will relax the breast tissue and alleviate the inflammation.

The massage will also stimulate the blood circulation and will disperse the buildup of fluid and will reduce the pain and tenderness considerably. Use the massage twice daily.

Hot Milk

Soreness in the breasts is also caused by a deficiency in calcium. Milk is full of valuable nutrients that keep the body in excellent health and in good function. It is also rich in calcium which is crucial for removing the tenderness and pain in the breasts. Instead of taking calcium supplements which can be harmful, it is best to acquire it naturally. Drink a glass of hot milk, two times daily.

Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds contain large amounts of omega 3 fatty acids and phytoestrogens which help to maintain the hormonal balance in the body and prevent soreness in the breasts. The omega 3 fatty acids also help to reduce the swelling and pain and prevent the fluid from accumulating in the milk glands. Grind some flaxseeds and eat two tablespoons of it with your cereal every morning.
