Garlic Cures Flu

Raw garlic is very effective in preventing several diseases because it contains very powerful antioxidants such as allicin, Vitamin C, selenium, Vitamin B etc. These antioxidants are very effective in fighting influenza viruses. These antioxidants even destroy free radicals and protect you from different types of cancers.

On the onset of flu, you need to chew 3-4 raw garlic in the morning and in the evening. This will give immediate relief from runny nose, sneezing, nasal blockage etc.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is also full of powerful antioxidants. It is one of the best home remedies for flu. Boil ginger in a container for 15-20 minutes and drink tea 3-4 times a day. You should not add sugar in it.

For better result, you can add honey in it. This tea is very helpful in clearing nasal congestion and it gives you great relief from body ache. Ginger tea mixed with honey also works as an excellent expectorant which gives you relief from cough and phlegm.

Zinc Lozenges

Zinc is one of the most essential nutrients, which is needed to boost your immune system. On the onset of flu if you take zinc lozenges, they will destroy the viruses and bacteria present in your mouth.

Thus zinc lozenges prevent the further growth of flu viruses and give you great relief from sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, body ache etc. You should also increase the consumption of foods containing zinc such as oysters, fish, walnuts etc.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is one of the best sources of Vitamin C which is very effective in boosting your immune system. Squeeze one lemon (preferably yellow one) in a glass of warm water and add a pinch of salt in it and consume it. Repeat this process twice or thrice a day. Your body will become strong enough to fight flu.

Gargle With Salt Water

You can kill bacteria present in your mouth by the help of gargling. Gargling also gives you instant relief from runny nose and cough. Add one spoon salt in gargle water so that it can kill the flu viruses present in your throat.

Chicken Soup

Chicken soup is full of antioxidants which can provide great relief from flu.

Drink Fluids

Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Also take complete rest.
