When white patches form on the skin of the arms, legs and face, the condition is called vitiligo. White patches occur when the patient lacks skin cells that produce melanin. White patches can be due to autoimmune disease and hyperactive thyroid glands.

Stress, sun exposure, Vitamin B 12 deficiency and hereditary causes can lead to white patches. White patches cause ugliness and spoil the beauty. White patches occur due to loss of pigments in the skin. White patches can cause disturbance and worry to the patient.

Home remedies can help in eliminating the white patches. Home remedies are inexpensive and use common ingredients found in the kitchen. The best home remedies for white patches are as follows.

Radish Seeds

Radish seeds are one of the best remedies for white patches. Grind 25 gm of these seeds coarsely. Add two-teaspoon vinegar to this powder to make a paste and apply on the skin. Wash the skin with lukewarm water after thirty minutes. You can use radish leaves instead of the seeds. Keep the radish leaf paste mixed with vinegar overnight. Apply the paste on the skin on the next day. Wash the skin after one to two hours. This remedy shows results in one month.

Ginger

You should take ginger juice regularly. Extract juice from ginger by crushing it and mix it with lemon juice. Add some water. Take this drink two times daily. You can rub ginger directly on the skin that has white patches.

You can also apply ginger paste on the skin. Take ginger juice and mix it with equal amount of red clay. Apply this paste on white patches. Wash the skin after twenty minutes with water.

Washing And Exfoliating The Skin

Wash the face many times in a day. Use a mild soap or cleanser for washing the skin. Cleaning the face will prevent infections. You should exfoliate the skin two times in one week. Exfoliation helps in removing dead cells from the skin, which makes the skin pores blocked, which can cause white patches. Thus, washing and exfoliating the skin helps in curing white patches.

Turmeric

Mix turmeric with mustard oil and apply the paste on white patches two times daily. This paste will increase the immunity. Do this remedy for one year. You can mix turmeric with neem leaves. This paste has antiseptic properties and removes the infection due to which white patches have formed.

Honey

Honey is very effective in curing white patches. It has anti-fungal properties, which kills the skin bacteria and heals the skin. Wash the affected skin and make it dry. Apply honey on the skin and let it absorb. You can mix honey to half measure of rice powder.

You can mix some sandalwood powder to this. Also, add turmeric powder. All these things should be of same quantity and half of measure of honey. Mix all things and apply on the skin. Wash the skin after 10 minutes.

Wild Duckweed

Wild duckweed is a very good remedy for white patches. Apply wild duckweed juice on the skin by rubbing five times daily. Do this remedy for one month, after which you will notice the difference when the white skin will become normal.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E helps in curing white patches. Break the Vitamin E capsule to release its oil or liquid. Apply the liquid on white patches two times daily in morning and night. Vitamin E oil moisturizes the skin and prevents water loss.

Figs

Fig is a very remedy for curing white patches. You should eat raw figs daily for one or two months. Figs help in making the blood pure. You can make fig paste by adding water to roasted fig powder. You should apply this mixture on the skin. Wash the skin after some time.

Cabbage

Crush cabbage leaves to extract its juice. Apply the juice on white patches. Wash the skin with lukewarm water after ten minutes. You can also use the water in which cabbage leaves are boiled. Apply this water on white patches. Eating cabbage also helps in curing white patches.

Walnuts

Walnuts are very good for curing white patches. You should eat walnuts regularly. You should apply walnut paste on the skin. You can make walnut paste by crushing and grinding walnuts to make a powder. Mix it with little water and the walnut paste is ready.

Holy Basil

You can use holy basil oil for curing white patches. Rub the skin with this oil. You can also use basil by boiling water. Add holy basil leaves. Add little turmeric powder and boil it.

Cool the solution and allow it to come to room temperature. Wash the skin with this water. This solution has antiseptic properties and helps in eliminating fungal infection.

Oil Massage

Heat the olive oil little so that it becomes warm. Massage the affected skin that has white patches with this oil. Do this massage at night before sleeping. Wash the skin when you wake up on the next morning. You can also use almond oil for this massage. This oil massage will moisturize and hydrate the skin. It will help in curing white patches.

Copper Water

Keep drinking water in a copper vessel. Leave it like this and keep overnight at normal room temperature. Copper ions will infuse into the water. This water will help in producing melanin, which cures the white patches. Drink this water on the next morning on waking up when you are on empty stomach. Do not put this water in refrigerator as it can spoil the water, destroying its healing properties and making it ineffective.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains acid and is very effective in curing white patches as it helps in killing bacteria and fungi. Add water to apple cider vinegar and wash the skin with it two times daily.

Do this remedy for one month. This vinegar solution cleans the skin and eliminates bacteria and fungi. You should take apple cider vinegar by including it in the diet and use it for cooking food.

Neem

Neem is a very remedy for white patches and many other skin problems. You can take dry leaves and flowers of Neem. Mix this powder with water and drink the water. You can also use powder of dry Neem fruits. You can also make paste by mixing water to Neem leaves. You should apply the Neem paste on the skin. Wash the skin after 10 minutes. You should do this remedy regularly and it will definitely cure the white patches.
