Best Natural Cure For Diverticulosis

Share

Diverticulosis is a condition in which very small sacs or pouches known as diverticula form in the wall of the colon. The sacs are usually about 5 to 10 millimeters in diameter but sometimes they can be bigger too. The colon pushes out the stool through the anus. If there is adequate fibre in the diet then the stool gets bulk from the fiber and is easily pushed out of the colon but if there is insufficient fiber in the diet then the stool remains in the colon for a longer time and it becomes hard.

The colon has to exert a lot of pressure to evacuate it. The high pressure pushes the inner lining of the colon through weak spots in the outer layer to form pouches. If a particle of food or waste matter happens to get lodged inside theses sacs then they become inflamed and cause diverticulosis. The main symptoms are abdominal pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea, cramping, fever, constipation and an irritable bowel.
