Best Yoga Poses For Anxiety Relief

Very few lucky people are immune to anxiety and depressing in today’s stressful life. It is merely impossible to stay away from anxiety amidst highly competitive professional and struggling personal life. But it is possible to control anxiety through natural treatments. People who suffer from anxiety are more likely to get stress-related health disorders like high blood pressure, hormonal imbalance, depression, cardiac disorder and many more.

So, fold your sleeves and take preventive measure to fight anxiety before its takes hold of you. And the most effective way to do it is by practicing yoga. More or less, all yoga types and poses helps to beat anxiety. But there are few which are especially best for fighting anxiety and they are explained below.

Yoga Poses For Anxiety Relief

Garudasana

Also known as eagle pose, this yoga posture draw mind’s attention towards balancing the body and removes all those disturbing thoughts for a few seconds. Perform this pose by standing straight with your feet close to each other.

Now bend the right leg and lift the left leg crossing over the right leg. Similarly, cross the left arm across the right and palm facing each other. Lift the elbows and keep the back straight. Take 5 to 10 breaths holding the pose and then repeat on the other side.

Salamba Sirsasana

Head stand or salamba sirsasana is a great way to release tension and anxiety. It focuses on the entire body and improves blood circulation everywhere from head to toe. To perform this pose, put your hand on the floor with elbow and knees resting on the ground. Place your head in between the palms and straighten the knees.

Slowly lift your legs off the floor and point your toes towards the ceiling. Hold the pose until you are comfortable and release it by dropping one foot at a time. Then Lie down in savasana i.e. resting down on your back for sometimes. It is essential to lie down on your back as while performing this pose the blood flow is directed towards head. And lying down brings the blood flow in normal pace.

Balasana

Balasana is popularly known as child’s pose. This pose is considered as an excellent relaxing pose and is carried out to rest while practicing yoga. In order to perform this pose, sit in folded knees position.

Then stretch your arms forward and straight. Place your abdomen on the thighs and forehead on the ground. Relax and breathe normally while resting in this position. Then release the pose and switch to other pose to maintain the flow.

Savasana

Savasana or corpse pose is one of the best and easy-pose-to-perform pose to combat anxiety. It is popularly performed mostly after yoga session to relax the body and mind. You can say that yoga session is incomplete without savasana.

To perform this pose, lie down on your back with your hands on the floor by your side and the palms facing upwards towards the ceiling. Stretch the feet forward and straight. Keep the eyes close and let the whole body including your face to relax and unwind. Breathe naturally and hold the pose for a few seconds.
