5 Yoga Poses For Hair Growth

1. Uttanasana

Uttanasana is also known as standing forward bend pose. This pose ensures abundance blood flow in the scalp which helps in hair growth. It further de-stress you and release tension and anxiety from the mind that are the main reason behind hair fall. Practice the pose in the following way. Stand upright with your feet placed closed to each other. Inhale deeply and while exhaling lift your hands and bend forward to touch the floor or your heels. Remain at this position for few breaths. Release the pose by inhaling and standing straight.

2. Sasangasana

Commonly known as rabbit pose, this pose also improves blood circulation on the scalp and helps to promote hair growth. Start the pose by siting on your knees and placing the hips on your heels. Then extend your hands at the back and try to touch your heels while bending your head on the floor. Inhale and lift up your hips. Remain at this position until five breaths. Exhale and release the pose shifting to child pose.

3. Ustrasana

Ustrasana or camel pose too focuses to direct the blood flow towards the scalp. This pose is also good for thyroid gland, any abnormalities on thyroid gland also causes hair fall. To practice this pose, sit on your knees. Move your upper part of the body back, a little like half-moon pose. Then place your hands on your waist with thumb facing back and fingers facing in the front. While bending backward, try to reach the heels with your hands. At this position, your face should gaze at the ceiling. Remain at this pose for few seconds while breathing normally. Exhale and release the pose. Then sit on balasana and relax.

4. Vajrasana

Vajrasana is also popularly known as diamond pose. This pose helps to tune your digestive system which in turn helps in hair growth. Practice this pose by siting on your knees with erect spine. Keep your arms on the folded knees facing the fingers down. Relax at this position for few seconds and breathe normally. Then return back to normal sitting positing with stretch legs.

5. Uttanpadasana

Also called as raised feet pose, uttanpadasana helps to improve blood circulation in the pelvic area that helps in the proper functioning of reproductive organs which indirectly affects hair growth. It is simple to perform, lie down on your back placing your arms on your side facing the ground. Stretch the legs and lift them to 45-60 degree angle from the floor. Hold this position for a minute or more according to your strength.
