Easy Home Remedies For Delayed Periods

Delayed periods are a problem faced by many women. A number of factors contribute to delayed periods. Some of them are stress, anxiety, increased level of thyroid in the body and use of contraceptive pills. These factors alter the levels of hormones in the body leading to a delay in the period.

It is considered that during ovulation if a woman experiences above factors, it might lead to a delay in her periods. An improper diet also contributes to a delayed period. A delayed period leads to a feeling of lethargy and uneasiness. It also leads to a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen. With the help of certain home remedies, delayed periods can be regularized.

Home Remedies For Delayed Periods

1. Unripe Papaya

Unripe papaya has abortive properties. It contains substances which induce periods. Unripe papaya also regularize periods related to menopause. Eat a few slices of unripe papaya till you get your regular periods. Even ripe papaya works for delayed periods. But unripe papaya yields fast results.

2. Grapes

Grapes are quite effective in treating irregular periods. Consumption of a glass of grape juice on a regular basis helps in treating delayed periods. Women in general must include a portion of grapes in their regular fruit plate. However, one must consume grapes in moderation as excess grapes might lead to loose motions.

3. Coriander

Both coriander leaves and seeds are good in treating delayed periods. Make a decoction with coriander leaves or seeds. A decoction can be prepared by boiling leaves or seeds of coriander. Drink this decoction thrice a day. A cup of the decoction each time will be adequate to induce periods.

4. Sugarcane Juice

Sugarcane juice also helps in inducing regular periods. Consume it on a regular basis from about two weeks before the periods. This is one of the most common methods of getting regular periods.

5. Aloe Vera Juice

Women who face the problem of irregular or delayed periods must consume juice of aloe vera on a regular basis. Aloe vera juice treats a lot of problems associated with women’s reproductive health. One can also eat a spoon of pulp of aloe vera leaves. Just cut open a leaf of aloe vera and take out a spoon of its pulp. Consume the pulp in an empty stomach with a glass of water. A regular use will treat the problem permanently.

6. Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are hot in nature. They help in bringing early periods. Dry roast sesame seeds and consume a spoon of sesame seeds with a little bit of jaggery. A regular consumption will treat issue of delayed periods.

7. Asafetida

In many households, it is a regular practice to include a pinch of asafetida to vegetables and dal while cooking. Asafetida has a warming property. It also helps feminine body in releasing hormone progesterone which aids proper functioning of female reproductive organs. It also aids in bringing on regular periods. If the periods are getting delayed, consume a pinch of asafetida on a daily basis.

8. Cinnamon

Powder a few sticks of cinnamon and keep it stored in a glass jar. Every night consume one fourth tea spoon of powdered cinnamon with a glass of warm water. It will help in regularizing irregular periods.
