Effective Herbal Remedies for Prickly Heat That Work Like a Magic

Sweat rash oris is a painful skin disease which is common in summer when weather is hot and humid. The major cause of prickly heat is due to the over secretion of sweat which in turn blocks the sweat glands. Blood can’t be purified as sweat can’t be evaporated anymore and this results in prickly heat. Many people are prone to prickly heat.

Mostly we see that children are prone to it as their sweat glands are not yet developed. In order to get rid of prickly heat, an irritating skin disease, regular use of herbal and natural home remedies will be very helpful. Natural home based remedies will not have any side-effects and can also cure Miliaria (prickly heat) effectively. Let’s discuss a few home remedies:

Herbal Remedies for Prickly Heat

Gooseberry

Amla (Indian Gooseberry) is high in antioxidants that can protect your body from free radicals. In an earthen vessel filled with water, put around twenty gooseberries in it and cover it. Leave it overnight. Next day, mash the berries in the earthen vessel itself and then filter that water. Add honey or sugar to it and drink it regularly. It helps in removing heat from your body, reduces inflammation and works as a good tonic for digestion.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood is well-known for its health benefits. Sandalwood also has an anti-microbial action and is also an antiseptic agent used to treat prickly heat rash inflammation. To get rid of this irritating skin disease, apply a paste made of sandalwood powder and rose-water over the affected area. Let it dry. You will feel better as sandalwood powder creates a soothing effect.

Neem Leaves

Neem leaves are being used as a traditional home remedy to cure any skin disorder. Take few neem (marqosa) leaves and make a fine paste of it using water. Apply it over the infected area. Let it dry and later wash off with cold water. The antiseptic and anti bacterial properties of neem can reduce irritation and rashes to a great extent. It gives an instant relief from prickly heat.

Chickweed

It is a natural plant that can be used to cure prickly heat. It has a soothing and cooling effect. It is generally used to prepare moisturizer and creams and people who are sensitive to chemical based creams use creams and products made of chickweed.

Peppermint leaves

Peppermint is known for its soothing and cooling properties. It can be used to cure prickly heat. If you add a bunch of pepper mint leaves to the water you bath, it not only cures inflammation but also reduces the swellings on your skin.

Aloe Vera

It has all the medicinal properties to cure any skin disease. The pulp of Aloe Vera when applied to the infected area can cure prickly heat and rashes. It not only reduces red bulges but also softens your skin.

Lavender

It is known for its cooling effect. The flavor of lavender rejuvenate your mood and cures your skin damaged due to inflammation. Apply lavender oil to the infected areas. This remedy can help to reduce inflammation caused due to prickly heat.

Miliaria (prickly heat) is a common skin disease experienced by kids, adults and many people during summers and in humid and moist weather. These are a few natural home remedies to get rid of prickly heat. They are inexpensive and the effectiveness of these home remedies is vast.
