Here are a few amazing home remedies for dull and lacklustre hair. Try them out and you are sure to have beautiful, shiny tresses.

5 Amazing Natural Remedies For Dull Hair

Sour Cream Mask

One of the best ways to restore shine is to opt for a sour cream mask. Take one fourth cup of sour milk and apply this on damp hair, starting from roots to tips. After 10-15 minutes, wash hair with water and shampoo as usual. Sour cream contains lactic acid that helps in stripping away product build up. It also contains essential nutrients that moisturizes hair and makes hair strong and healthy.

Beer Rinse

Dull hair is a result of ruffled hair cuticles that makes it look dry and dull. Beer contains malt protein that helps to repair damaged hair cuticles. After shampooing your hair, rinse your hair with beer.

After two to three minutes, wash hair with cold water. This treatment can be done once or twice a week. Over time you will notice that your hair is soft and shiny.

Avocado And Egg Mask

Dull and dry hair usually needs moisture as well as protein. This avocado and egg mask provides both protein and hydration to your hair. Simply scoop out half a ripe avocado in a medium-sized bowl and add an organic egg to it. Combine avocado and egg well until you have a gooey mixture of thick consistency. Apply this homemade mask on damp hair, allowing it to remain for about an hour. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo after an hour.

Baking Soda Mask

Dull hair is usually due to an accumulation of hair styling products like leave-in conditioners, hair mousse, serums and hair sprays. A great way to remove all these product build-up and restore shine is to use baking powder. In a small bowl, add one-fourth cup of baking soda with two to three tablespoons of water.

Combine together until you have a thick paste. Apply this mixture on damp hair, smoothing it out with your fingers. Let it remain for two to three minutes and then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Make sure that you rinse your hair well, otherwise your hair will feel a little damp and sticky.

Banana And Honey Mask

Take a ripe banana and mash with two tablespoons of honey. Apply this mask on clean, damp hair, massaging it well into your scalp. After half an hour, wash hair with a mild shampoo. Honey is a natural humectant and bananas have moisturizing properties that help to restore shine to dull hair.

These were a few home remedies to combat dull hair. Used regularly over a two to three months, these natural hair treatments are sure to show results.
