Remedies For Foot Fungus

A fungal infection of the foot is also known as athlete’s foot. The scientific name for this infection is called as tinea pedis. A foot fungus is typically characterized by scaling, cracking and redness in the feet. There can also be widespread itching. The fungus grows and thrives in dark and moist environments of the foot.

That is why this type of fungal infection is very common in men. This is also because men tend to wear heavyweight footwear and socks, which become damp with sweat especially if they are into sports. People with poor hygiene and reduced immunity are more vulnerable to foot fungus. In very severe cases blisters, fissures and cracks develop in between the toes and water starts to ooze out from the fissures. The infection can also spread to the toes and cause toenail fungus.
