5 Effective Natural Cures To Thrush

If your mouth is filled with yellowish white sores and your tongue feels fuzzy because there are wooly kind of spots on it then you are said to be suffering from an oral infection known as thrush. This infection is caused by the overgrowth of the fungus known as Candida albicans.

Normally this fungus, together with other bacteria lives harmlessly in our mouth and in other parts of the body but if the immune system malfunctions then this fungus multiplies manifold and inundates the mouth causing thrush. This infection usually involves the tongue, inside of the mouth, upper lip and the gums.

The sores feel velvety and if scraped even in the slightest bit, can start bleeding. The main cause of this infection is a weak immune system which is unable to control the over growth of the fungus. Other causes are certain diseases like diabetes, cancer and AIDS. This infection is best treated with natural remedies as these do not kill the healthy bacteria present in the mouth and the body.

Natural Cure For Thrush Disease

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is the best remedy for thrush in terms of its absolute effectiveness and safety for children as well as adults. This oil has remarkable antifungal, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which eliminate the fungus quickly and successfully.

Take some coconut oil and with your clean index finger smear it on the tongue, inside the mouth and the gums. Apply three or four times regularly.

Mustard Oil

This is oil too is full of natural healing and curing powers which set to work instantly. Take a teaspoon of mustard oil and mix a good pinch of salt with it.

Rub the oil on the tongue, gums and the inside of the mouth and keep it for five minutes. Rinse your mouth with warm water. Apply mustard oil three times daily to get rid of the fungus quickly.

Betel Leaf

Betel leaf commonly used as a mouth freshener has many medicinal values. I think that because it has so many good health giving qualities that is eaten after every meal, offered to the Gods and is used for every festive and auspicious occasion.

Grind a few betel leaves with a little water in a mixer grinder. Strain the mixture to extract the juice. Use this juice as a mouth wash. The antiseptic, antifungal properties of betel leaves will soon quell the infection.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains certain enzymes that inhibit the growth of the fungus and prevents it from causing infections. Take a glass of warm water and mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar into it. Drink this mixture after every meal. In a few days’ time you will find that the fuzzy sores and spots have completely disappeared.

Black Tea

Prepare a mouth wash by steeping two teaspoons of black tea into a glass of hot water. Allow it to stand for ten minutes. Then strain the tea and rinse your mouth with this, thoroughly three times daily. The tannins present in the tea will destroy the fungus quickly and effectively.
