Bones are said to be dislocated when they move out of their original position. When one of your joints is injured the bones making up the joint may be forced out of their position. This is known as dislocation. It is often caused by a blow, fall or a sudden jerk. You can have a dislocated knee joint while playing soccer or a dislocated shoulder joint while playing rugby. Joints that can get affected are your knees, ankles, elbows, jaw, hip, fingers, toes etc.

Dislocation results in extreme pain. Along with the pain there will be immediate swelling of the area. It is not possible to rectify and place the bone in proper position without medical intervention. You should rush to the doctor whenever there is any dislocation. However, for the swelling and pain you may use some herbal remedies. There are herbs for treating dislocations. However, immediately after the injury you should apply some ice over the area to lessen the pain and swelling.

5 Effective  Herbal Remedies For Dislocations

Willow

This herb contains salicine, an enzyme that helps in pain relief. It has been seen that willow bark can be quite effective in alleviating pain. Mix 2 gm of willow bark in a cup of water and drink the mixture. Take three such cups daily to reduce swelling and alleviate pain.

Horsetail

This herb is used to repair bones. It contains high degree of silica, and due to this it is very effective in treating bony injuries. Silica helps the body to assimilate calcium.

This helps the body to store more of calcium and that helps in repairing bony tissues. Dissolve 100 gm of this herb in a litre of water. Take two cups of this mixture every day. You will have relief from the pain and inflammation.

Arnica

This is perhaps the most famous herb for injuries and the consequent pain and dislocations. It is used extensively in homeopathy for pain relief. This herb is anti-inflammatory and analgesic in nature. Arnica lotions are available over the counter in local pharmacy stores.

Apply this lotion topically over the affected area as soon as there is an injury. Even if the injury is severe, you will get relief from the tremendous pain and swelling. Before going to the doctor arnica can provide you some relief.

Comfrey

Comfrey is known to be a healing herb. Its leaves have a healing action on injuries and a protective action on the underlying tissues. It is valued as a treatment for sprains, swellings as well as cuts. Comfrey root is known for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory action. It is better to use fresh plant.

Soak some chopped root and some leaves in a bowl of hot water for at least half an hour. After the heat has tapered off apply the mucilaginous element on the affected area. This will give you profound from the pain and swelling. You will get time to report to the doctor.

Caynne Pepper

Caynne pepper is a hot spice. It has a stimulating action on the blood flow. Increased flow of blood can heal injuries fast. Moreover, its anti-inflammatory and analgesic property is helpful in dousing the pain and swelling that results from dislocations.

Infuse some caynne paper in olive oil and apply that over the injured area. You will feel the comfort.
