Herbal Remedies For Memory Loss

Share

Memory loss is a problem where a person cannot remember certain things and it is commonly associated with old age.

As people grow older, they cannot remember certain things and they might even forget the important and rich memories of life. However, there are many ways by which the problem of memory loss can be solved naturally.

Tips To Cure Memory Loss

Phosphatidyserine (PS)

Phosphatidyserine is the element which surrounds the living cells and it also protects the nerve cells of the brain and helps in removing wastes as well as ensuring that enough nutrients enter the brain.

Under normal conditions, enough amount of PS is produced by the brain to keep it functioning efficiently but when there is a shortage of B12, folic acid or any other important fatty acid, the amount of PS will also decrease. Shortage of PS causes various problems and therefore supplements should be taken so that thoughts and memories are transmitted efficiently. This can be taken by eating mostly soya beans or cabbage.

Ginkgo

This is the longest surviving tree and since a long time it has been used in treatment of Alzheimer’s, memory deterioration and dementia. It is widely used to help in circulation of the blood so that clots are not formed.

It is also known to prevent the damage of brain cells and so it can help with memory loss. But it should be noted that this should not be taken when you are already using a blood thinning medication

Acetyl-L-Carnitine

This is a nutrient which is found in meat and animal products. This can easily enter the brain after crossing the blood-brain obstacle. It acts as an antioxidant and also protects cells from impairment.

It is also known to reduce the deterioration of the brain which is caused due to age and it also strengthens the functions of the brain. Various studies show that if acetyl-L-carnitine is prescribed along with lipoic acid, the memory of an individual is enhanced greatly.

Vitamin C And Vitamin E

Both of these are very important for the health and production of neurotransmitters. Many studies have shown that not only do these boost cognitive function and reduce the chances of dementia and Alzheimer’s, but they also prevent memory loss.

Vitamin E can by taken through foods like spinach, lettuce, turnip, pumpkin etc. and Vitamin C can be taken through black currant, guava, kiwifruit etc.

Folic Acid

It is a B-comple Vitamin which helps brain function and improvement in memory. Folic acid can very easily be found in various fruits like peanut, fresh parsley, broccoli etc.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

You should make sure that you regularly get omega 3 fatty acids through your diet because they stimulate brain activity and increase the memory. Not only this, they also increase the mental awareness of a person. Omega 3 fatty acids can easily be taken through natural sources of food like flaxseed, nuts and seafood.

Rosemary

You should try to add fresh rosemary to your food as many times as possible because it stimulates the brain function, improves memory and also helps in enhancing concentration. You can also use rosemary oils in baths or you may also use them as a perfume to enhance the function of the brain.
