Herbal Remedies For Muscle Soreness

Share

Onset of muscle soreness at a delayed stage is known as muscle fever where an individual experiences stiffness and pain in the muscles for many hours to days after a strenuous exercise or physical activity. The soreness is strongly felt in the first twenty one to three days after the strain of exercise. It is known to occur if exercises are performed for a longer duration, which leads to micro trauma to the fibers of the muscles. Once such strenuous activities are performed, the muscle tends to adapt quickly to avoid any damage and hence lead to soreness, if the exercise is done repeatedly.

The soreness is a dull pain and ache in the muscle that is affected. This normally occurs with stiffness and tenderness. The feeling of pain is felt when the muscle is contracted, stretched, or put under a lot of pressure without giving any rest. Muscular mechanical hyperalgesia is the term coined for muscle soreness. The pain occurs initially and slowly subsides in a week or so. A few herbal remedies for muscle soreness are discussed below.
