Home Remedies For Angina Pectoris

Share

Angina pectoris is a condition which is characterized by pain and discomfort in the chest. The chest feels very tight and there is a feeling that someone is squeezing it with a great pressure which results in burning. The pain which begins behind the breastbone radiates to the neck, back, jaw, back, shoulders and throat.

Some people also feel nausea, anxiety, excessive sweating, fatigue and shortness of breath. Angina pectoris occurs due to blockage in the coronary arteries. The inner layers of the artery walls get damaged and plaque begins to buildup in the arteries. The hard plaque makes the arteries narrow and stiff and reduces the blood flow to the heart muscle. Sometimes the plaque is not so hard and it disintegrates and forms blood clots. If the blood clots are small then they partially block the arteries and if they are big, they cause total blockage. The main causes of this condition are smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes and high amounts of cholesterol in the blood.
