5 Home Remedies For Bed Sores

Share

Bedsores are formed when the bone squeezes the skin and the tissues against the surface of the bed or any other surface against which you happen to be in contact. They happen in places where the bones are close to the skin that is mostly below the waist.  They are also known as decubitus ulcers.

If you are confined to bed, a wheel chair or a chair  for a long period  due to illness then bed sores develop on the hips, base of the spine, elbows, ankles, heels and shoulder blades. They are very painful red sores that go deep into the skin and muscles very close to the bones.

Most pressure sores affect the elderly patients who remain in bed due to long term illness and there is a lack of mobility which affects the blood circulation. They are also caused by the constant rubbing of the skin against a surface where the underlying tissue gets damaged or if there is constant moisture that softens and weakens the skin.
