5 Home Remedies For Oily Skin

Share

Oily skin can spoil your looks and affect your overall personality. It can cause your makeup to look blotched and patchy and give you an unclean and unwholesome look. Oily skin occurs when the sebaceous glands situated under the skin secrete a lot of natural oil called sebum. The oil simply oozes out of the pores of the skin causing it to look coarse, thick, greasy, shiny and dull.

The pores get enlarged and trap a lot of dirt and impurities from the environment which gives rise to pimples, blackheads and other blemishes. Anyone can have oily skin but it is more common in adolescents who face hormonal imbalance due to a sudden spurt in growth. Pregnancy, hormonal changes, hot & humid weather, diet, heredity and menopause are some of the causes that make the sebaceous glands overactive. Harmful cosmetics can also have an adverse effect on the glands.
