The treatment for this must begin on time to prevent worsening of teeth and gums which can further lead to complication and can even lead to surgery since the harmful side-effects of periodontal disease cannot be reversed. The two forms of this disease are gingivitis and periodontitis.

Besides the expensive and painful procedures available with the dentist one can go for these inexpensive, easy and painless remedies which can easily be prepared as well as followed at home. Water

At least 8 glasses of water must be consumed throughout the day. Water expels out the bacteria from our mouth and prevents it from causing serious mouth disease..

Brush Daily

One should brush at least twice a day, i.e. morning and night to avoid any problems. Change your toothpaste regularly.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix hydrogen peroxide commonly known as baking soda with equal parts of water. Gargle with the mixture and spit.

Use it as frequently as you can since it not only cleans your teeth, but also disinfects mouth. One can also brush with baking soda instead of toothpaste once or twice a week. It also helps in curing bad breath.

Mouthwash

One must use mouthwash to remove the remaining bacteria from our mouth.

Vitamin D

Increase the intake of Vitamin D with increased exposure to sunlight without sunscreen so that body can naturally synthesize Vitamin D. Also, calcium rich food must be consumed.

Green Tea

People who consume green tea are less prone to developing periodontal disease in comparison to people who drink other tea.

Floss

It helps in the removal of all the leftover food particles in between our teeth along with killing the bacteria.

Aloe Vera

Apply aloe Vera gel over teeth and gums eases pain by soothing the gum tissue.

Clove

To reduce the infection caused by the disease one can apply clove oil on the affected area. It will lessen the pain and heals the gums.

Tea Tree Oil

Just a drop of tea tree oil in your brushing routine can work wonders for you. It has antiseptic and antibiotic properties. Use this treatment twice a week.

Rosemary Leaves

Crush a few rosemary leaves and apply it on your gums by massaging. It boosts circulation and speeds up the healing process.

Toothbrush

Use an electric toothbrush as it provides better cleaning of the mouth when compared to the normal toothbrush.

In case of a normal toothbrush try to go for the one with soft bristles and don’t forget to change your toothbrush at regular time intervals say about every 3-4 months.

Massage Your Gums

With the help of a rubber bristle toothbrush or index finger or thumb. Do this for 5 minutes twice a day to expel the bacteria and fasten up the healing process.
