5 Home Remedies For Rubella

Another name for rubella is German measles which is a contagious infection caused by a virus. The virus is transmitted either through direct contact with an infected person or through the air. This infection is generally common among children and is known as three days measles. A person infected with rubella spreads the disease to others from a period of one week before the rash appears till one or two weeks after the rash disappears.

Children who are not vaccinated against this disease are commonly affected and adults in whom the effect of the vaccine has worn off and does not fully protect them, are susceptible to it. This disease is marked by fever, watery eyes, dry cough, and red rashes on the skin. As this disease progresses, it can lead to diarrhea, bronchitis, pneumonia and abscesses in the ears.

5 Effective Remedies For Rubella

Turmeric

Turmeric has overpowering medicinal values which heal a wide range of diseases and disorders. It has potent antiviral, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can deal with virus quickly and bring relief in the inflammation, joint and muscle aches and dry cough.

Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder into a glass of hot milk and drink it twice daily. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder in some ghee to form a paste and apply it liberally all over the rashes to get rid of them quickly.

Neem

Neem has been used since time unknown for curing and healing all sorts of diseases caused by bacterial, viral, fungal and other microbial infections. Boil half a bucket of water and add a sheaf of neem leaves to it.

Continue boiling on a low heat till the water turns green. Cool the water and bathe with it everyday to heal the rashes fast. Also, chew a few young and tender neem leaves for three days to clear the infection from inside out.

Holy Basil Or Tulsi

Tulsi can bring great relief in the symptoms of rubella. Its antiviral, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can destroy the virus swiftly and reduce the fever, headache and cough.

People suffering from rubella often experience great thirst so it is a good idea to keep drinking tulsi water every few hours. Boil a pan full of water and add twenty tulsi leaves to it. Simmer on a low heat for five minutes then turn off the gas. Drink the decoction throughout the day.

Ginger Tea

Brew some ginger tea by adding one teaspoon of grated ginger to a glass of boiling water. Boil on a low heat for a couple of minutes then turn off the heat. Strain the tea, add one teaspoon of honey and drink it three or four times daily till the infection has cleared off totally.

Eggplant Seeds

Bake one whole eggplant with the skin. Remove the skin and mash the pulp finely together with the seeds. Chop one raw onion and mix it with the eggplant.

Eat this mixture for three to five days to increase immunity and to nullify the infection. You can add some salt and pepper to the mixture to enhance the taste.
