Home Remedies For Treating Scabies

Share

Scabies is a skin infection that is caused by tiny mites. These mites are so tiny that they are not visible to the naked eye. These mites attack the skin and tunnel their way under it. They lay eggs under the skin which hatch into larvae.

The larvae grow quickly into full fledged adults and these adults lay more eggs and quickly spread to other areas of the skin. The initial manifestation of this infection is severe itching which occurs several days after being infested with the mite. Then red patches of rash appear on the skin which soon turns into blisters.

There is intense itching and burning and the skin takes on a thick and coarse appearance. The commonly affected areas are the inside of the wrists, armpits and side of the fingers.

Scabies is highly contagious and it is easily spread through contact with an infected person. Care should be taken not to use any personal articles like towels, combs and brushes of the infected person.
